Review/Giveaway: From This Moment On by Bella Andre

Title: From This Moment On
Series: The Sullivans #2
Author: Bella Andre
Published: Aug 2011
Format: Print copy provided by Media Muscle

For thirty-six years, Marcus Sullivan has been the responsible older brother, stepping in to take care of his seven siblings after their father died when they were children. But when the perfectly ordered future he's planned for himself turns out to be nothing but a lie, Marcus needs one reckless night to shake free from it all.

Nicola Harding is known throughout the world by only one name - Nico - for her catchy, sensual pop songs. Only, what no one knows about the twenty-five year old singer is that her sex-kitten image is totally false. After a terrible betrayal by a man who loved fame far more than he ever loved her, she vows not to let anyone else get close enough to find out who she really is...or hurt her again. Especially not the gorgeous stranger she meets at a nightclub, even though the hunger - and the sinful promises - in his dark eyes make her want to spill all her secrets.

One night is all Nicola and Marcus agree to share with each other. But nothing goes as they plan when instead of simply tangling limbs, they find a deeper connection than either of them could have anticipated. And even though they both try to fight it, growing emotions - and sizzling attraction - keep drawing them closer together.

Close enough for them to wonder if stealing one more secret moment together can ever be enough?

I am so falling for the Sullivan men. Seriously – what is not to love? In The Look Of Love we met Chase, and whew, I thought he was fantastic. I didn’t think it could get better than him and his bathroom sneaking antics. My friend, Anna @ Herding Cats & Burning Soup told me I would love Marcus. I didn’t believe her, I was firmly a Chase girl. But here I am, fallen for Marcus. In fact, I read this book so fast I barely took any notes.

From This Moment On starts right after Chase and Chloe’s engagement party in the first book. Marcus had just discovered his girlfriend, Jill, was impaling herself with another man. Ahem… So Marcus needs to blow off steam, and he goes to a club, looking for a little “getunder” as in “the best way to get over one woman is to get under another”. And then it was all “We saw each other across a crowded room…” when he and Nicola spotted each other.

Nicola is a pop star, but she is also just a regular girl and she is looking for something more than what she has, meaning she wants to get naked and just be a normal person for a moment in time. And then she meets Marcus. The two of them are intense together. I mean, they are comfortable yet sexy and sensuous. I felt like they were really good together. You can tell there was instant chemistry and it was strong. And when it got heated, it really got heated. We even got to witness a bit of a dominant side to Marcus Sullivan, which I totally ate up like it was the last meal on Earth.

Her eyes glittered with emotion as she looked up at him and he could feel the dangerous pull of more than just bodies coming together in that moment as she held on to him, the sun illuminating her stunning beauty, the golden hue of her smooth skin.

For all his sensual demands, Marcus knew damn well who was really in charge. Nicola had owned him from that first moment in the club when she’d looked into his eyes and claimed him.

She’d had hisbody from the first, but he’d been so sure his heart – his soul – were safe. That no woman could possibly touch him.

So then, why did being with her like this touch him as nothing ever had before?

So yeah, I loved them together. Fire and chemistry and hot sex. And then feelings get overwhelming, and it blows up. I loved Marcus, but for a moment his self-deprecation really began to ring true. He was acting like an ass. But don’t worry, he’s a Sullivan, he will fix it.

This whole book moved very quickly for me. My print copy was nearly 400 pages, but I read it in two evenings. Bella Andre’s writing is beyond wonderful, she really brings the story right to you and takes you along for the ride. I’m really enjoying the CA lifestyle they are living, between Napa Valley and San Francisco so far. The main characters are fabulous, of course. But there is the added wonderfulness in the appearance of the rest of the Sullivan’s, and even a bit with Chase and Chloe. I have a feeling that every new Sullivan book I read will be my new favorite. But for right now, that title solely rests with Marcus.
