Review: Love Kinection by Jennifer James

Title: Love Kinection
Author: Jennifer James
Published: 2012, Decadent Publishing
Format: Ebook provided by author for review

Love, romance, hearts, flowers, cupid…. Rubbish.

Abby Fine still hasn’t gotten over the pain of a year-old betrayal and plans to spend this Valentine’s Day drowning her sorrows with a ménage of men named Ben, Jerry, and Riesling.

Her plans are diverted when she drops and breaks her new iPhone and gives in to a momentary hormone surge, agreeing to let office hottie and tech god Tom Walker squirm his way into her condo to fix it.

Tom shows up with his Xbox, spicy Chinese food, and a habit of stealing kisses every time she lets her guard down.

Can a weekend of laughter, video games, and movies change Abby’s opinion of stupid Cupid?

One year ago Abby’s life changed, and she didn’t think at the time that it was for the better.  She was left at the altar.  Charlie had run off with another woman.  But not just any woman…  But the almighty “they”, “they” always say good things come to those who wait.  And Abby is about to find out.

Valentine’s Day, one year later.  Depression is knocking on the door.  And now Abby has broken her new phone.  Damnit! Luckily the office IT hottie, Tom, notices and offers to fix it.  In fact, he wants to come over that very night, and with food.

Jennifer James has made me an instant fan with this story.  Inside the pages you find heartbreak and heart ache, healing, friendship, flirting, and oh so much more.  Even in her depression, Abby is a smart ass.  This is a trait that I love in just about anyone.  Sure, the pain hurts, but if you can keep your smart ass attitude about you, well, you know you have a chance to survive.

Tom… well, Tom is a terrific guy.  He’s sweet and kind, and unexpectedly romantic.  And something else, he’s a bit of a nerd.  But hey, so is Abby so that is great! Tom sounds just like the perfect guy, in my opinion.

For being relatively short at around 80 pages, give or take, this story packs quite a punch.  I think that if this is the kind of writing that Jennifer James writes, then she has a long career ahead of her.  This is the kind of romance that gives jilted women , hell, any women, hope that their match is out there.   The emotions were true and heartfelt, the pulse rates were heated and racing. The drama was fabulous.  And the stolen kisses, well girls, that’s what Valentine’s Day is about, isn’t it?

Also - right now there is a release day party going on for Jennifer's new book, Long Time Coming!  Be sure to check out this post for a fab excerpt and a chance to win a wicked prize!
