Blogger On Blogger Interview: Naomi @ Nomi's Paranormal Palace

Welcome Back!!

I interview a lot of authors, we all do.  And it is really a lot of fun.  But who is it behind those interviews?  You!!!  So now I want to interview you! This post will run every Thursday (give or take a day due to scheduling) as long as I have people who want to be interviewed!

This is my second run on the Blogger on Blogger Interview feature, and today my guest is Naomi from Nomi's Paranormal Palace! So sit back and check out what she has to say, then go on and follow her over at her blog! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the interview!

If you are interested in being interviewed yourself, there is at tab up there at the top with a form to fill out.  Enter your info and I will get back to you within the week!  Please note that I am booked until early December on Interviews, and I post them (mostly) in a first come first serve basis!

Hello Naomi!  Thank you so much for agreeing to interview with me!
You’re welcome!! I’m actually really nervous about it – being my first interview, but excited at the same time!!
Don't be nervous, I don't bite!

You run a relatively new blog, Nomi’s Paranormal Palace.  Can you tell our readers today a bit about your site?
I decided to start Nomi’s Paranormal Palace because I always have thoughts running around in my head after finishing a book.  I used to ring my sister Simone to rant and rave at her about it and she always told me that I get too passionate when I read books and I take it too personally (Because they aren’t real people)!! So I started writing my thoughts down and sharing them on my blog and hopefully I’ll find people who may be as passionate about the books as me!!
As for the Paranormal, that’s what I love to read. Anything in the Supernatural world intrigues me, whether it is YA or Adult books!

Your website design is pretty cool!  I love the colors, and your header image is creepy and wonderful!  Did you design it yourself?
I would love to take the credit, but no, my sister Simone actually did most of the design. She has always called me Nomi, so I decided to call the blog Nomi’s because it is almost her name backwards. I want her to contribute to the site too, but I think she is nervous people may read it!

Nomi’s Paranormal PalaceAnd for other readers to come see you, what genres do you focus on?
I’d have to say paranormal (obviously) but also Paranormal/Romance, Urban Fantasy and Fantasy. However Liz, I am starting to expand further into some Erotica books since you have introduced me to that world!!

Naomi, what is your favorite part of book blogging?
Meeting people is one of my favourite parts of blogging. I have regular contact with some bloggers and authors overseas that I would never have met if I had not started my blog.

And who are your favorite authors? Do you have any books that you tell friends they MUST read?
I have favourite authors in both Adult and YA genres. In Adult books my favourite authors are J.R.Ward and Ilona Andrews, and in YA Rachel Vincent and Richelle Mead but they both write adult books too. Argh!! There’s so many great authors out there I could mention heaps of them!
My favourie series is the Kate Daniel’s series by Ilona Andrews, so those books are a must read. Ilona and Gordan quite often write short stories in-between books so I am able to get my Kate and Curran fix while waiting for the next book to come out.

If you had to pick one paranormal creature to be your favorite, what kind would it be?
There have been times when I’ve been reading a book that I wish that I could be a Vampire!! My husband asked me once if I wanted to be a vampire, so I told him I would if I could!!

And Naomi, this is a hard one.  I’ve just created a machine from an old DeLorean like in Back To The Future.  Except it can take you into a book.  Where do you want to go?
Ooh, tough one!! I have a favourite Vampire, Adrian, who first appeared in Richelle Meads Vampire Academy series and is now in a spinoff of that series, Bloodlines. I would love to be in that book with him, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t remain a YA book once I have my way with him!!

What is your favorite website, that is not your own!
I am a big stalker of Fictional Candy at the moment Liz!! (Thank you, Naomi!)
I don’t have any websites in particular that I visit constantly. I usually jump around, checking in on my favourite authors and Bloggers, getting updates on books and getting any ideas that will help me improve my site.

Since Nomi’s Paranormal Palace is so new, what do you think the hardest part of getting up and running has been?
Knowing what to put in my posts to attract followers has been hard. Just doing reviews is not going to draw in followers. I’ve been trying to figure out what Meme’s to join to try and get traffic. It’s definitely not easy.

What is a typical blogging day like for you?  Do you listen to music?  Do you take notes?  What goes into preparing a post for you?
When I’m reading on my iPad, I quite often highlight parts of the book I like, but usually I don’t take any notes. When I finish a book, I like to write all my thoughts down straight away, they are usually a jumbled mess until I fix them up for my review. But when I do a post, the TV is usually on the cartoon channel and my 2 boys are screaming around the house being noisy boys!! I have to try and tune them out and get my work done!!

And lastly, do you have any upcoming events coming up that we can look forward to?
I have a blog tour coming up, but it isn’t in the Paranormal world, but everyone starts somewhere. It will be my second tour. The first one was yesterday! (Aug 15)
August 27th
Six Weeks to Yehidah by Melissa Studdard
Virtual Book Tour
Presented by Sage Blog Tours

Thank you so much for taking the time today to be a part of my new feature!
It has been a pleasure Liz.

Now here is your chance to visit Naomi at her website, and follow her all over the web!  Show her some love, and check out her wonderful site.  It's quickly becoming one of my favorites!
