Review: Pleasure Cruise by Mandy M Roth and Michelle M Pillow

Title: Pleasure Cruise
Series: Pleasure Cruise #1
Authors: Michelle M Pillow, Mandy M Roth
Published: March 2012, Raven Books
Format: I won it!

Clare needs to loosen up and have some fun--not to mention some hot sex with someone other than herself. Her best friend, Kira, knows exactly what she needs--a vacation full of hunky single men who'll knock her panties off. When she booked the cruise for Clare's birthday, the travel agent left out one tiny detail. It's a supernatural cruise, and they aren't getting off until they're married.

The powers that be are tired of waiting for the supernatural to find their own mates and reproduce. In a desperate act to get the dwindling population back up, they've decided to take matters into their own hands. Dominik, a lycan, and Braden, a vampire, are just the two perfect candidates to start this experiment. They're sexy, in the prime of their reproductive immortal lives and ready to mate--just as soon as they can seduce their unsuspecting brides, or at the very least, keep them from swimming back to shore.

Rating: Contains graphic sexual content, adult language, and violence. This book is an erotic title. That means it's super, mega hot and full of steamy, melt your sock off sex. If that isn't for you, you should move along to a less steamy title.

Things that come to mind when I think of the book Pleasure Cruise:
  • Friends
  • Fun
  • Hot men
  • Sexy as hell nights (and days!)
  • Snark!

Friends, if you’ve not read this book, please do yourself a favor and put it on your TBR now. Preferably near the top. You will not be disappointed. It was so much fun to read!

The story starts with a rather interoffice memo that lead me to use this book in this past week’s Quote-Tastic post. It is from The Powers That Be regarding the dwindling population numbers among the supernatural, and bringing humans aboard the ever popular Pleasure Cruise in hopes mating will take place. Grand idea! Where the hell do I sign up for this??

And the two human girls in this story who get to go on this cruise are Kira and Clare. It was Kira’s idea, of course. She’s a bit of a crazy girl, always looking for some fun. Clare, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved and still licking her wounds after a broken heart. But you can’t say no to Kira, can you? The only thing is that neither of these girls is fully aware of what this cruise is about. They may each think they know, but they have no idea!

Our two leading men are Dominik and Braden. Dominik is a Russian werewolf. ‘Nuff said, I know. But let me go on! Dominik is fantastically awesome! At first all I could think was he was a super creeper, but it wasn’t long before I thought he was just perfect. Tall, dark, handsome and yet caring and sensitive and packing a huge… punch. And Braden… British vampire. ‘Nuff said, again. Am I right, or am I right? Both of these men are super hot and sexy, with libidos to match. They have certain supernatural powers that really help them out from time to time, and they are the male form of besties. Do men even call themselves besties? I couldn’t have picked better men to star in this fun-fest!

I don’t want to give it all away, but let’s just say there are some funny things that happen this story. We’re talking mistaken rooms, mind play, swinging vibrators like bats… Yep, I did just say that. I freakin’ laughed OUT LOUD! Mandy and Michelle have proven themselves to be a perfectly paired team on this book. And more than funny there is sexy, and the sexy will burn you up! You will be panting and sweating and begging for more!

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book. It was lighthearted and fun. It left me smirking and overjoyed, and eager to read the next one in line, Date With Destiny, which involves some were-panther twin brothers. Oh, I have GOT to read that one!!

So how about it? Have you read this book? Are you going to?
