Two Week Seduction by Kathy Lyons had me seduced! (review)

Title: Two Week Seduction
Series: Standalone
Author: Kathy Lyons
Published: June 30, 2014 - Entangled Publishing
Format: Ebook received for review

She’s going to break all of his rules…

Tech Sergeant John O’Donnell was never fond of his hometown. Too many reminders of poverty, his rocky family life, and the girl he was never allowed to have. Now he has exactly two weeks to sort out his mother's finances before he heads back overseas. Two weeks that he's determined to spend as far from his best friend’s little sister as possible.

Alea Heling has a naughty streak a mile wide. Sweet and simple? Boring. She’s been craving a bad boy like John since their wild days together in high school, and this time, she’s not taking no for an answer. But with every panty-meltingly hot encounter, Alea forgets one hard, cold reality—this soldier won't let a fortnight turn into forever...and forever might be exactly what they both need.

I love military romances. Heck, I know you all do too. Something about a big ol’ strong man in uniform finding that true love (that we wish was us!!) Sigh. It gets me every time. Two Week Seduction was no exception – I loved every word of this book.

John is our military guy. He’s a tech sergeant in the Air Force. He grew up poor, really poor. His best friend growing up, Sam, had a little sister, Alea. She’s our heroine, but we will get to her in a minute. You know I’m not done with John! So John is this big strong man (insert big swoons here) and he’s home on leave for two weeks. Two short weeks. He’s kind of at a crossroads in his life. He loves the military, but he doesn’t feel the situation is just right for him anymore. However, he just doesn’t feel like he has much choice. He sends money home to his mom and sisters, and he’s just that kind of take care guy. I instantly loved him. Yes, he was a bit hard-headed at times, but I dare you to show me a man who isn’t!!! Anyhow, he’s a great guy and definitely fits that sexy-alpha-omg-i-want-him role to a perfect T.

And then we have Alea, the younger sister. Man, this girl is a trip. She’s wanted John forever. She’s even made a pretty big play for him in the past, only to get shot down. Once you find out why, your heart will kind of break for them both, for the time they’ve missed out on. But in the meantime, she’s determined to get close to John while he’s home. She thinks he wants one thing, and she tries. But it’s just not her. And when her true colors come out, the girl is on FIRE. She is really amazing. On top of that she is a geometry teacher. I know, groan, right? But no. Alea really cares for the kids, and it shows. I loved every single thing about this woman, and she’s a terrific character.

So the plotline… it’s not too complicated. Two weeks home on leave, woman wants man, and endeavors to get him. Hardheaded man puts up a struggle, but really – does he want to? John and Alea played a few cat and mouse games with each other, taking turns on who is the cat. It was a lot of fun to see.

He exploded.
His vision went dark and he released.
He let go of everything and gave it all to her.
And she took it all.
So good.
And when it was done, he realized he'd sunk to his knees at her feet.
So fucking good.
And he was lost.

The sex? Oooh-my-lawd, it was hot. I mean it was really sexy and steamy. There were some gentle scenes, but it was the more frantic scenes that made it a homerun for me. These two really know how to heat it up, again and again. The chemistry is definitely there, and I could not see either one of these two with another person. They are under a bit of a time crunch, with him only being home on leave. I found the sense of urgency really made it a bit more exciting. This book really had it all; a charismatic couple, intensity, emotion, playfulness and great heat. I’d definitely recommend!!

KATHY LYONS writes light, funny, sexy stories for Harlequin Blaze. She loves the faster pace of category books and that her humor can shine through.

She leaves the dark, tortured love stories to her alter ego, Jade Lee.
