So last week I read Little Black Book - and I was looking forward to it so much!! I'd never read either author, so this tour seemed like a great opportunity to try them out. While this book didn't really delve far into the depths of emotion, the story was quite enjoyable and had enough twists and turns to keep me interested.
We start with Rosslyn and her little brother Kyle. Their parents died when they were children, and they've lived with their grandmother this whole time. Well, now the grandmother has died and Rosslyn and Kyle are left with nothing. There are definitely hard times ahead for these siblings, and my heart went out to them. Rosslyn is in her twenties now, but she is bound and determined to keep her brother with her. The girl has a great big heart, and I loved her. When job applications turn up nothing, she takes her friend up on applying for a job at a bar, where she ultimately meets Sebastian.
Ahhhh Sebastian. Such an innocent sounding name, you just know there is a wolf in sheep's clothing. And that's how he is. He collects women, in a way. He doesn't want to know anything about them at all. He basically keeps them as personal prostitutes, but they keep coming back for more. The man is debonair and charismatic, and sexier than a calendar full of hunks. Frankly, for the amount of money he offers, I'm not so sure I could say no myself. Then he sees Rosslyn, and nicknames her Jessica, after Jessica Rabbit. He's drawn to her, and he can't help himself. I loved seeing him unravel for a woman!!
So as you can tell from the title and the blurb, Rosslyn takes him up on it. She has to, to care for her brother. What happens next is completely entertaining, and a bit toe curling at times. Little Black Book is sexy and quick, it would be a perfect poolside read. The characters are all very engaging, although some just rub me the wrong way with their cool and a bit bitchy demeanor. Vick, I mean you!! Oh geez, I'm not even going to get into this woman, suffice it to say if you look up bitch in the dictionary, you'd probably see a picture of her!
But I digress. As I said, it's a fun book without getting too deep. The sex was hot, and Sebastian and Rosslyn's relationship grew from strangers to something else, and ended in the HEA we all look for. So yes, it's a definite recommendation from me! And be sure to watch the trailer - it has a certain sexy beast that would be a perfect Sebastian!
