Hey Jessica! Welcome to your first interview at Fictional Candy! I promise not to be too rough with you!
Hi Liz! It’s such a pleasure to be here. Thank you for having me! I’m not worried. Yet. LOL
We’re here today to talk about Alien Adoration. What can you tell us about this book that isn’t in the blurb?
Alien Adoration is an erotic science fiction romance. It was inspired by the song Spaceman by Bif Naked. And while I listened to the song, I imagined a little girl staring out her window, and seeing a little alien boy on the street. This story is what happens when those two children are older and reunited.
Your website says you write contemporary and science fiction romance, which I definitely know to be true. But which is your favorite to write, and which is your favorite to read?
I don’t know if I have a favorite to write, but I generally have more ideas for science fiction romance stories. And on my Kindle and Kobo, I have plenty of both genres, so no favorite there at all. I try to alternate when I’m reading.
I’m particularly interested in the science fiction aspect. How did you first become interested in sci-fi romance? Do you think it is harder to write than contemporary romance?
I’ve always enjoyed the romance aspect in science fiction. In the sci-fi shows I watched as a child, it was always the romance between characters that kept me coming back. And in sci-fi movies, it’s always those that have that extra romantic relationship that make me enjoy them more. I mean, who doesn’t want to know more about what’s going on with Spock and Uhura?
For me, it’s not any harder to write sci-fi. I love creating new worlds and new species. But for every author, it’s different.
Let’s say an alien is coming to kidnap you. Would he be one of your characters, and where would he take you?
I would hope it was one of my characters coming to kidnap me. Then it would be for my own protection, and he would take me somewhere safe. I’d be very worried if it wasn’t one of my characters.
What’s life like for you when you aren’t writing?
It’s pretty boring. I’m usually doing errands, cleaning, doing the laundry, picking up kids from school, or running them around to various places. Though my hubby and I do enjoy our date nights. ;)
In an alternate reality, which book would you want to spend your life in (either yours or someone elses)?
Oh gosh, this is something I’ve never thought about. When thinking of books I’ve read, the first book to come to mind was Barbara Elsborg’s Lucy In The Sky. And if I had to pick one of my own, I would pick Satin Sheets in Space.
What is the best thing about being an author?
It’s always wonderful when a reader tells you how much they enjoy a story that you worked so hard to create.
We’re all adults here, or at least we think we are, right? So do you have a favorite cuss word, and why (or why not!)?
I really have to be careful, as I’m around kids a lot. So, I’ve had to come up with some creative words. One of my hubby’s favorites is fuzzy socksuckers. Even ‘fricken’ is a bad word. But, when it comes right down to it, I say ‘shit’ a lot.
If someone has never read one of your books, and they can only read one, which one do you recommend?
Oh, gosh, it really depends, because they fall into so many categories. I have GLBT titles, ménages, new adult and erotica. Hmmm, if I had to pick one, it would be my latest release, Alien Adoration.
And lastly, what do you have coming up in the near future to tantalize your readers?
I have two releases coming out in the next couple of months with Decadent Publishing. Another Night, Another Planet is an erotic sci-fi romance that is part of their 1Night Stand and Elatia lines. And Never Gonna Desert You is the second book in the sci-fi/dystopian series, The Underground.

“Need a lift?”
The voice was deep and masculine, one she didn’t hear very often, but would recognize anywhere. Luke. Wonderful! He wouldn’t talk to me before, but now that I’m topless and sopping wet, he notices me.
She circled slowly to stare at the leather-clad figure sitting atop his motorcycle. The visor of his helmet covered most of his face, leaving only his luscious lips and deep, jutting chin, covered in light stubble, exposed. What would they feel like against her lips? Between her legs? Her body tingled.
“Earth to Rachel. Do you need a lift, or should I leave you here in the pouring rain?”
Oh God, he knows my name. Since they’d never actually talked—she’d only heard him greeting his dates—her name on his lips came as a surprise. “Um, yes, I’d appreciate a ride.” On his Harley, and if she was lucky, in his bed. Anywhere. Her romance-first rule didn’t apply to him. He’d already seduced her plenty in her dreams.
Remaining on his bike, he yanked a helmet from his saddlebag and held it out to her. “What happened to your pretty blouse?”
Pretty blouse? He’d seen her earlier? “I….” Fluttering rolled through her stomach. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
She grabbed the helmet from him, fit it over her soaked hair, and buckled the chinstrap. Straddling the seat behind him, she fumbled with her hands, wondering where to place them, no bar behind her to hold on to. Oh, what it would be like to wrap her arms around him, lean against his wide back covered in leather. But what if he didn’t want her to touch him?
Luke pushed off from the curb. “I suggest you hold onto me or you’re going to fall off.”
The bike lurched forward with a roar. She clasped her hands around his waist, her fingers coming together temptingly close to his manhood, cheek pressed to his cowskin jacket. His deep chuckle reverberated across her skin.
“I told you to hang on.”
And she could lean on him forever. Being so close to him with pure raw power between her legs moved her better than any fantasy she had ever created. But what is going to happen when he takes me home? Or will he invite me to his house instead?
She pressed her lips together. Sure, she wanted to know what lay under his tight pants, but she refused to be another conquest. I can’t handle it.
He drove into her driveway too soon, leaning the bike over enough for her to slip off. She removed the helmet and handed it back to him. “Thank you. I appreciate the ride.”
Tucking the helmet away, he nodded. “You want to come over for coffee?”
That and more. Though she refused to go anywhere in her state of disarray. “Um, no, I’m kind of wet.”
“Another time, then?”
She nodded. Shit, why did I say no? They could strip down together and have all kinds of fun. But he drove away before she had a chance to retract her words.
