Review: Claimed by Stacey Kennedy

Title: Claimed
Series: Club Sin Book One
Author: Stacey Kennedy
Published: Aug 5 2013, Random House, Loveswept
Format: NetGalley Ebook

Presley Flynn is ripe to experience her secret fantasies . . . and Dmitri Pratt wants nothing more than to fulfill them. Once inside the elite Club Sin in Las Vegas, Presley is nervous but excited—and determined to surrender to her every desire. Dmitri is her Master, and his touch is like fire. With each careful, calculated caress, he unleashes her wildest inhibitions, giving her unimagined pleasure.

Presley is different than the other submissives Dmitri has mastered. The BDSM lifestyle is new to her, and so are the games they play at Club Sin. From the start, Presley stirs emotions in Dmitri far beyond the raw purity between a dom and the perfect sub. For the ecstasy they share goes beyond the dungeon, igniting a passion that claims the very depths of the heart.

It’d been a while since I read a Stacey Kennedy book. I don’t really know why, it’s just the way it goes sometimes. Well, now I’ve found a new series I am going to stalk the hell out of : Club Sin. And it all started with a book named Claimed. Three letters: OMG.

OMG

Presley, she’s the girl a lot of us have been. She’s just caught her boyfriend of eight freaking years cheating on her. But she had the good sense to kick his ass to the curb, and she moved in with her new friend, Cora. Presley is getting her life back in order, but something is missing. Cora sees her reading an ungodly amount of BDSM romance fiction. Ahem. Sound familiar ladies?? So Cora let’s her in on a secret – she’s living the lifestyle. Fast forward and Presley is at Club Sin meeting with the owner, Dmitri.

Dmitri. Now ain’t that a name you can picture calling out in the throes? Yeah? How about Master Dmitri? Oh yeah, he’s not just a spokesperson, he’s the poster-man. Dmitri exudes sex and power. He’s got such a handle on the situation, the situation doesn’t know what hit it. He’s my kind of hero, and its instant love.

“This isn’t a sex club meant to have vanilla sex. At Club Sin, you are the submissive and are treated as such.” Drawing in a deep breath, he allowed her a minute to process before he said, “There are no slaves at Club Sin. We have submissives, who, outside of the dungeon, are equal in every regard. In the dungeon, you are the bottom of the relationship and will need to accept that. You don’t make decisions. You don’t ask questions. You do what you Dom tells you to do.”

The club is hot. The sex is thick in the air. Spanking, sucking, display, binding… there’s a lot going on and in a very classy way. I love the club. I feel like I’m there, I can hear the music, I can feel the air on my skin. And when Dmitri and Presley are in the room the temperature goes up about a thousand degrees.

I love the way Dmitri handles every situation that comes his way with ease. Even as Presley and her innocent and natural submission are throwing him for a loop-de-loop, he is taking it in stride. Presley isn’t as smooth as he is, but when she’s around him all bets are off. The way these two coexist in the same space is not only beautiful, it’s breathtaking. This story gives you some freaking wonderful heat, but it also gives you a budding romance that you know is going to be as strong as a brick wall by the time all is said and done.

And Cora? I love her!! She is officially the Best Friend Ever. The girl has a good head on her shoulders and she is spunky. She has no fear and no shame, and I love her to bits. And hey, her book is next – so be on the watch out for that.

Stacey Kennedy’s easy flow of writing continues with this story. It took me mere moments to be engrossed in this world. She writes characters that are easy to relate to, even if they live in a world completely opposite from your own. She commands the page, and the words on it. If you’ve not read Stacey’s books before, I’d add her to your list. I’ve never read a single one I didn’t like. But this series, Club Sin, is going to be beyond fabulous. I can feel it. Read it now so you aren’t trying to catch up later!
