Blogger On Blogger Interview/Giveaway: Confessions From Romaholics

I interview a lot of authors, we all do.  And it is really a lot of fun, right?  But who is it behind those interviews?  You!!!  So now I want to interview you! This post will run every Thursday (give or take a day due to scheduling)!  Check out the tab up there in my tab index for this feature.  That's where you can check out past interviews and upcoming interviews!

Today I have Tash, from Confessions from Romaholics, and an international swag prize!

Hello Tash!  How are you today?
Things are good here, despite the hot weather here at the moment! It has been averaging around 86° to 108° Fahrenheit in the last week.

First, can you tell us a little bit about Confessions From Romaholics?
Confessions was started in August 2012 but the site was two months in the making. Originally, it was the plan to be just MF, MM and Ménage but then I fell in the love with YA and now there is a little bit of everything as the current reviewers read a wide range of fiction. But from me you will see more YA reviews at the moment than any other category, although I will never exclusively review from just one category.

Now I see you’ve merged with Booked Up.  How does that work?
Most of our reviewers who reviewed from the original site came over to the new one and the original ‘Fashionta’ retired and a friend stepped up and took over the name. Since that time, most of them have taken a break because of real life. So at the moment there is only myself, Fashionta, Dolce Amore, and Black Tulip who review and on the editing side there is redstarr, Jancf and Em.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Okay I actually have two things.

The bloggers and the authors who make up the book community.  Every blogger that I have interacted with has been willing to help in any way possible by giving time up or making opportunities like this.
The authors have given me the privilege of reviewing their books, often to interview them or create a guest post for them on the blog. The opportunity to do something like this allows me to read, learn and discover new things. My interest in YA romance came as a result of a request to read a particular book that followed another and another … and out of it came a great passion for the genre. Through the intimacy of the interviewing process, I can ask the kind of questions I’d like to know about favorite authors, in particular, and understand their writing process, something I find fascinating. It’s also absolutely thrilling to have a one-on-one with an author whose works I admire.

What do you do when you aren’t blogging?
Reading! I know reading is a part of blogging but I admit I’m obsessed with category romances. They are my secret indulgence, especially the cheesy ones from the 80’s and 90’s. The main things in my life are school and TV. I’m in my final year at uni (college) studying accounting and finance. As for TV, I’m into anything that catches my interest, so at the moment I’m watching American Pickers and Operation Repo and streaming online E.R.
Ohh! and I forgot the key ingredient that makes so much of this happen, how I get to indulge in my category romances. Book SALES.  During certain months you can find me on weekends at book sales scouring for cheap books so that I can bulk buy my category romances and anything else that catches my eyes.

If you could only read one genre for an entire year, what would it be?
Hmm, it a toss-up between paranormal or historical fiction. I have discovered lot of authors writing paranormal material since I started blogging and this was a favorite genre of my pre-blogging and remains so. I love a good shapeshifter novel. On the other hand, I’m a sucker for those historical novels that always seem to have seduction, revenge or some cliché romance type.

What is your favorite type of post to do?
I love to do Blog Tour posts as it is usually a combination of a review and (hopefully) either a guest post and interview. It is hard work but I love see it go live on the blog and let others see all the hard work come to fruition.

If you could bring one book to life, which would it be?
Hmm. Good question! At the moment it would be  to be Shadow Claim, the first book in Kresley Cole’s new series, The Dacian: Realm of Blood and Mist. Sexy Vampires, anyone? and  it is set in The Lore, the  same setting as her Immortal After Dark series and there’s mention of Lotharie coming to life with Dacians in their secret kingdom.

How do you handle Did Not Finish books, or do you finish every book?
I never had a DNF for the blog as I try to preserve and read the whole book. I never reviewed anything truly bad that I had to DNF. However, I have had instances of having stopped reading a book and needing to come back to it at a later date because I wasn’t into the book initially. I’m more picky with what I read for reviewing but I have stopped reading books I hated if it was a personal choice.

Do you have any favorite blogs or authors you think the rest of us should check out?
At the moment the ones I check at lot and am loving are:
Kimba the “Caffeinated Book Reviewer”—I love her Sunday Post memo but I haven’t had the time in recent months to participate.

And I can’t forgot the Aussie Blogs:
This Charming Mum (http://thischarmingmum.com/)

If you didn’t have a book blog anymore, do you think you would still review books?
I don’t really review books that I read on Goodreads; I think there is one non-blog review on my Goodreads account. I only rate books and mark them so I know that I have read them so I don’t have to search my books at a later date if I want a reread. I like reviewing but it is hobby and reading is the main passion here, my main interest. Reviewing just grew out of it as I wanted to share my opinion on books I loved.

And last question:  Who would your favorite book boyfriend be?
I think the answer is going to surprise people as I read widely. But my favourite book boyfriend is Will from Colleen Hoover’s Slammed series . He is sweet, a hunk, a mature and true gentleman and the perfect age for me—LOL! I can’t wait for his book which will detail the missing period between the first and second book in the series from his point of view.

Thanks so much for joining me today!

Thank Liz for this opportunity J
