The Lycan Hunter
Kelsey Jordan
When Alexis James arrives at her first assignment in months, she anticipates the danger and violence rife in her calling as a Lycan Hunter. What she doesn’t expect is a handsome, blue-eyed wolf saving her life and kidnapping her. Surrounded by the enemy, Alexis must not only survive her prisoners but the bonds of a different sort that begin to form against her will.
Mikko Kyran was chosen by the gods to lead his pack, and he has made it his mission to end the eight thousand years of war plaguing his people. The Alpha never suspected that the key to the prophecy ending the Forever War would be held by a smart-mouthed, sexy Hunter determined to kill him.Can two people from different worlds set aside everything they know about one another long enough to survive retribution from the Hunters, the pack, and the gods? Or will their differences start a war that neither can win?
Hello! Today I have an interview with character Kyran and author Kelsey Jordan! It's pretty awesome, I just love character interviews! Check it out, and enter the giveaway below!
I walk up to
the open door of the Blue-Oconee office to see Kyran behind his desk
absentmindedly playing with his tie. His crystal clear blue eyes are staring
off at some far-off point as if he is lost in a memory. He jolts when I knock
on the door.
Kyran:
Hey. Come on in.
[I nod and step into the room. It’s decorated
mostly in earth tones with accent pieces in gold and blue. After I settle into
one of the white and blue chairs opposite his desk and wait for him as he grabs
a tumbler of whiskey from his decanter.]
Kyran:
Want some?
Me: No thanks. I don’t drink.
Kyran:
I can get you something else, if you want.
Me: I’m fine, thank you.
He growls at
my statement and I’m forced to smother a smile. He still hates that phrase I
see.
Kyran:
So what can I do for you?
Me: I just wanted to catch up with you. How
have things been since…you know, that meeting?
Kyran:
(laughs softly) It’s been good. More sex, less bullet wounds.
Me: I suppose that is a good thing. Can’t
say I’ve ever been shot.
Kyran:
Trust me, it’s overrated. Anyway, besides that, everything is pretty normal
around here. The pack is great. Ronan just left to handle some Rocky stuff for
the first time since he got married yesterday.
Me: Really? He got married and I wasn’t
invited?
Kyran:
It was a circus. You didn’t want to be there.
Me: What do you mean? He didn’t have a
literal circus did he?
Kyran:
Gods no. We had a bunch of Rockys here. Some of the ones you already met, but
there were some others in attendance and they had a hard time acting civilized.
Weddings and funerals bring out the worst in people.
Me (looking at his suit again): I didn’t
take you for a suit man.
Kyran:
I’m not. Lex hates them on me. She claims they hide too much of me.
Me: So you wear them because?
He glances
down at his tie and strokes it silently for a minute. His touch to the tie is
soft, like he’s stroking the flesh of his wife.
Kyran:
This silk is like her thighs, so smooth that my touch just glides along it. I
like my hands on my wife’s thighs. I prefer them other places too, but we won’t
get into that. I wear the suits to make her earn what is already hers. (He
pauses and looks at my flustered features) Have you ever seen a Hunter on the
prowl? It’s erotic and fucking scary as hell.
Fear and sex…brings out the animal in me.
Me: I…um. So…(I drop my head and scan the
other questions I have.) So, does Lykil stop by a lot?
Kyran:
(laughing) That segue was not smooth at all, but I’ll let you slide. To answer
your question: no he hasn’t been around as often. Things have been ramping up
and he’s been busy dealing with everything else. When he is here, he’s drinking
all my damn beer.
Me: Why? Does it even give him a buzz?
Kyran:
Liquor does nothing for me, so I assume he’s drinking it for the same reason I
do. It takes good. I’d bet he also does
it to get on my nerves, but that’s just me.
Me: You think he’s that spiteful?
Kyran:
You tell me. You’ve met him.
Me: (I sigh dreamily earning a grunt from
Kyran)
Kyran:
You’re not a Destruction groupie are you?
Me: Um, maybe?
Kyran:
I’d wish you luck with that, but I’d be lying.
Me: What’s wrong with having a thing for
Destruction?
Kyran: I’m
not a chick so I guess it’s hard to see past the asshole in him to see the
good.
Me: He’s not that bad.
Kyran:
No, he isn’t, but he isn’t good for you either.
Lykil needs a certain kind of woman. Unfortunately, whoever she is, she
hasn’t made herself known yet.
Me: So no one is good enough for him?
Kyran sits
in reflection for a moment. There’s an odd sense that he’s protecting Lykil
from a pain that Destruction is already familiar with thanks to Afri, Goddess
of Love.
Kyran:
You could say that. Lykil needs a certain thing that I’m sure no mortal woman
can live up to. He’s a special kind of pain in the ass.
We descend
into banter about other things, namely a set of twins that seem to be running
the pack crazy, when Alexis walks in wearing mostly leather, brandishing a
wicked blade on her thigh and looking like sex and violence. I nod to myself,
totally understanding what Kyran meant earlier and why it is a good idea to get
out of here.
Me: So, um…yeah.
Kyran barely
manages a snort at my ungraceful exit before Alexis is across the room
brandishing her blade.
Alexis:
What did I tell you about these suits?
