I jumped right on to Forever Ride! (Chelsea Camaron) + Giveaway!

Title: Forever Ride
Series: The Hellions Ride #2
Author: Chelsea Camaron
Published: June 9, 2014
Format: Ebook received for review

Events happen in life that can awaken our truest and deepest desires. They also show us our greatest fears. Sometimes we are forced to face those fears, other times we build walls that can't be broken to protect ourselves.

A profound connection these two once shared. A strong friendship once formed was shattered. Fate has stepped in and shaken both their worlds.

The danger, the wild, the chaos, and the lifestyle of the Hellions world has become far too much for Savannah 'Sass' Perchton. Swearing off bikers and attempting a 'normal' life, she has settled. She's committed to Nick, her country club, pretty boy. She's found a way to be content.

Things aren't always what they seem. Wrap an empty box in pretty paper and a bow, it may look amazing, but it's still a hollow shell.

He's a Hellions playboy. A different chick in his bed, off on a different ride, and always something new. He's Frank the 'Tank' Oleander, Haywood's Hellions Road Chief. Throttle down and life is good.

The fast pace of the Hellions life catches up to him. At a crossroads, he's forced to face some life changing thoughts or succumb to the darkness of death. Teetering on the brink of giving in, her voice is all he's holding onto. The coma he can't pull himself out of, but her voice is the light in the darkness. He wants the girl who pulled him through when his life was literally in the balance.

She's sworn off bikers. Can he pull through? Can she ever see past the lifestyle to the heart of the man behind the cut? Will they find their Forever Ride?

Not too long ago I read One Ride, and I really enjoyed it.  In One Ride we met Doll and Talon, and got to know their love story.  But we also met Sass, who is Doll's best friend, and Tank, another member of the Hellions.  Their story... well, it was a bit rocky.  They clearly had a thing for each other, but they were these awesome friends.  Then one night they hooked up and things went awry.  By the end of One Ride, there was a shoot out with the Delatorre group, and Tank was in the hospital.  Sass was sure she was done with the mc life, and was dating some yuppy "safe" guy named Nick.  That's where we begin Forever Ride, where Sass and Tank must come to terms with.... well, everything.

"Cliche bullshit is something neither of us ever bought into before, Sass.  Come on now, let's be real.  The ride is in your blood, your veins, and most of all, in your heart.  You're tellin' me you can give up the feel of a real man in front  of you, a bike under you, and the open road before you?  You can live without that?  Because I couldn't.  Call me out if I'm wrong, but you don't seem like you anymore.  The woman in front of me is a broken shell of the Sass I know.
"

Sass - I loved her.  But you know what, she was trying to deny everything she was, everything she was raised to be.  That got under my skin a bit.  I understand that the dangerous life of the club was a bit scary.  But she tried running, and that took her right to Nick.  Nick... Nick's an ass, but I'll get to that in a bit.  As for Sass, she is just as her name suggests - full of sass.  She was never the type to let a person, let alone a man, tell her what to do or who to be.  That's the woman I liked.  In Forever Ride, she kind of let that go for the false umbrella of safety that she felt she had with Nick.  But that's ok, I was eagerly waiting for her to regain her sense of self.

And Tank.... *sigh*  What a man.  In Forever Ride you get a glimpse of him all the way back to his teen years.  Tank is in a coma for a good portion of the book, and he is remembering.  Not only that, but he can hear things around him - like Sass visiting him every day.  But the thing about a coma is that you can't wake up, right?  He's trying... and even though he can't move or speak, you get a very strong sense of who this man is.  He is there for his family and his club, and you learn he is deeply in love with Sass.  I was on edge waiting for him to wake and claim her heart before she did something stupid with her yuppy douchebag boyfriend!

In Forever ride there was a lot of retelling of things that happened in One Ride.  This kind of bugged me after a bit, because I'd already read that book.  However, if you were jumping in at book two, this could be beneficial.  The first quarter of the book moved a bit slow for me, it took a bit to kick into gear.  It also wasn't as focused on the club so much, as this was Sass's story, and she had moved to suburbia to shack up with the previously mentioned yuppy douchebag, Nick.

Let's talk about Nick, eh?  Just in case you didn't get my meaning by yuppy douchebag, let's also add controlling and manipulative to the mix.  And for good measure, let's add emotionally abusive and insecure, too.  So yeah, I don't like Nick.  But I will leave the rest of this loser for you to read.

The greater the risk, the greater the reward, and the greatest risk you can face is putting your heart on the line.

How do I feel about Forever Ride?  Overall, it was a really good story.  I think it's very integral to the story of the club.  Sass goes through a crazy amount of things in this book.  Seriously.  It's an emotional thing for her, even when she shuts down and blocks the club out of her life.  I have to admire the tenacity of Doll and Tank, they know Sass is their girl, and they know they will get her back.  If you like mc romances, I think I would definitely add this one to your list.  But if I were you, I'd start with One Ride.  Chelsea Camaron has a great talent for storytelling, and making each of these books feels different.  I love that.  It's not the same love story with different characters.  So yeah, give it a shot - I would. (well, I guess I did LOL)

Chelsea Camaron was born and raised in Coastal North Carolina. She currently resides in Southern Louisiana with her husband and two children but her heart is always Carolina day dreaming.

Chelsea always wanted to be a writer, but like most of us, let fear of the unknown grab a hold of her dream; she realized that if she was going to tell her daughter to go for her dreams, that it was time to follow her own advice.

Chelsea grew up turning wrenches alongside her father, and from that grew her love for old muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, which just so happened to inspired her ‘Daddy’s Girls’ series. Her love for reading has sparked a new love for writing and she currently has a few more projects in the works.

When she is not spending her days writing you can find her playing with her kids, attending car shows, going on motorcycle rides on the back of her husband’s Harley, snuggling down with her new favorite book or watching any movie that Vin Diesel might happen to be in.

She hates being serious and is still a big kid at heart. She is a small town country girl enjoying life and, Chelsea hopes that her readers remember not to take life too seriously and to embrace your inner five year old, because five year olds know how to enjoy the simple things in life and how to always have fun.
