Dawn Summers is dying. It’s 1853 and as the seventeen year old continues to fade away she has visions of the father she never knew, urging her to fight for her life.
In the small village of Fandova the only medical care is in the form of the mysterious Dr. Moralus who has a known penchant for bloodletting. Thomas, Dawn's fiancĂ©, is warned against inviting his intervention, but feels he has no choice, he pleads with the doctor to save Dawn’s life…whatever it takes.
Whatever it ‘takes’ has some consequences neither of them expected. Now, it’s a hunt to the death, with both Dawn and Thomas determined to win.
Hey everyone! Happy Thursday. Hang on tight, Friday is almost here! So today I have author, Carys Jones here with her Top 5 Films! I just love top 5 films, and some of these are on my favorites list! How about you? Did they make any of your lists?
Film Top Five
As a writer,
my greatest love is definitely literature, but my other passions are films and
ballet which come a close second and third.
I love films
so much that I studied Film at University alongside Creative Writing. I was
really fortunate to find a course which encompassed both of my passions!
When I’m
writing a book, I always see events play out in my mind, like a movie. So for
me, I think my love of films and movies has helped me develop my writing as it
enables me to visualise events clearly.
Growing up I
used to go to the cinema at least once a week, it’s not such a regular thing
now as I prefer to buy films in DVD and watch them in the comfort of my living
room.
If, like me,
you also love films you might well be interested in my top five movies of all
time, which I’m sharing with you below. I think that films, like books, have
the power to stay with you long after you’ve experienced them. And as an utter
film geek it is obviously my dream to one day see one of my books made in to a
movie!
So here are
my top five films, the order is unnumbered as I couldn’t decide between them!
Let me know what you think;
- · The Breakfast Club
This is an
absolute classic and a must see for any fan of the teen movie genre!
- · Donnie Darko
Dark yet
brilliant I love this. The cellar door comment was really interesting.
- · The Lord of The Rings The Two Towers
My favourite
film of the trilogy, so dramatic, I was literally on the edge of my seat during
the battle for Helms Deep!
- · Grease
For me it
will always be the word as it reminds me of being young and I love all the
songs
- · Baz Lurhmann’s Romeo and Juliet
The film which made me fall
in love with Leonardo DiCaprio
