Wow, I am really becoming a fan of dark
erotica! It is books like this one that
just draw me in. It’s not just about
sex, although sex – naughty sex – is a major player. But authors like Lucy Rodgers really know how
to make the story real. Maid
for Pleasure has absolutely made it to my favorites list!
It starts off with Libby on a plane to a
private island owned by Gavin Huntley.
They’ve been matched together by an online service called Maid for
It. She is in her maid’s uniform, as
requested. She has no luggage,
everything will be provided for her during her stay. Here is the catch: Gavin is under the
impression that she will be staying indefinitely. Libby knows she has a two week vacation from
work and will be leaving at the end. So
right away she is entering into this situation with a lie.
But Gavin, oh so creative and extremely
intelligent Gavin… he is on to her. He
knows more than he lets on. Sure, Libby
needs a change; she’s trying to fulfill a fantasy. But Gavin wants a real sub because he is a
real Dom. And within ten seconds of
meeting her face to face, he makes her call him Master. He just commands respect in a way that makes
you want to give it to him. I’m willing
to bet nearly every woman reading this book is ready to call him Master!
“Consent is King”
Oh yes, consent is king in the D/s world. There are safe words and dropping the scarf,
and all sorts of precautions to keep the sub from doing something he or she
doesn’t want to do. But is that really a proper D/s relationship? If you always have your “get out of jail free”
card, are you really giving it your everything, are you really submitting or
just playing a role? Gavin knows
this. He knows that if you truly can
change your mind at any moment then you aren’t really giving yourself to him
completely.
I really loved this story. I loved how Gavin was so strong and yet so
caring. I loved how hard he pushed Libby
to her very limits, and then a bit more.
The sex scenes in this story were hot hot hot. They were fabulous, really. If you are into dark erotica or even just
erotica, there is a little something for almost everybody.
Of course, I’m sure no one is really revealing
the big twists in this story. The twists
that will make your jaw drop. The twists
that will make you fearful, have you repeating “no no no no no no!!” just like
I was at the parts you’d never think you’d be saying that to. The twists that make you think, “yep, that’s perfect.”
