by T.A. Foster
Like most authors, music is an integral part of my writing process. I will literally play the same song over and over until I have a scene written exactly how I want it. I put together the playlist that I primarily used to write Cover Spell with a little background on how important these songs were to me while I wrote the second book.
Fade Into Darkness Avicii
This song felt like a good in between scene song. The lyrics do have a very relatable translation when I think about Ivy’s Time Spell.
Blurred Lines Robin Thicke
I know this song became “the song of the summer,” but I was listening to it in April when I was writing the Easy Eddies dance sequence for Ivy.
Hey Pretty Girl Kip Moore and Good Night for Dancing Josh Abbott Band
Evan Carlson loves country music. These songs fit perfectly with Evan’s style when he and Ivy have their moment on the dance floor.
Back to Me Without You The Band Perry
Every girl has a breakup song. This one resonated for Ivy when she first arrived in New Orleans.
Padam Padam and La Vie En Rose Edith Piaf
I needed some authentic French tunes that would help create Josette’s mood in my head as I wrote her scenes with Luke. There’s no one better than Edith Piaf for that.
A Friend of Yours Frank Sinatra
This Sinatra song was recorded in 1945. The lyrics were fitting with the secret relationship that Luke and Josette maintained. It was nice to have Blue Eyes in the playlist mix.
Come & Get It Selena Gomez
Ivy has a moment when she is determined to get what she wants. This song helped me create her sassy attitude for that scene.
Let Him Fly Dixie Chicks
This is an oldie from my own collection. Sometimes you need a good breakup song to help channel the characters’ emotions.
See You Again Carrie Underwood
I heard this one day when I was writing dialogue for Ivy and it brought the scene together.

Her long love affair with books started at an early age, and as soon as she was able, she transformed imaginative stories into words on paper. Time Spell is T.A.’s debut novel, and the first in a series about a very adventurous, clever, and magical girl named Ivy.

When she’s not chasing her two-legged and four-legged children or trying to escape for date night, you can find her reading, writing or planning her next beach trip.

Release Launch: Beautiful Oblivion by Addison Moore
Beautiful Oblivion
Addison Moore
Some people just don’t belong together, or at least that’s what the world would have them believe.
It was supposed to be just for the summer…
Reese Westfield comes from a world of old money, country clubs, cotillions, and expensive cars. She’s tired of dating Warren McCarthy just to make her father happy. Reese has long since had her eye on someone else, and this summer she’s determined to make it happen.
Growing up in Lake Loveless there has always been a strict monetary divide—there was the rest of the Lake and then there were the Waterman’s. Ace Waterman has worked for everything he has, and he doesn’t have a lot. He breaks his back doing grunt work while putting himself through college. He’s used to life passing him by.
Reese has loved Ace from afar for as long as she can remember. The summer of her freshman year she comes home with plans to land Ace in her bed at least for a few short weeks, and, if she’s lucky, forever.
Ace has loved Reese for as long as he can remember, but their friendship has never graduated beyond platonic, so when Reese comes home from her first year away and proposes the two of them have a summer fling, Ace is quick to comply. The rules: no strings, no expectations, just something hotter than the sun to set the sheets on fire.
But when their worlds collide, and neither of them is willing to admit to having true feelings, it becomes clear to Ace he’s nothing more than a dirty little secret—that the summer fling was just something meaningless to pass the time.
Reese wonders if she can ever stop trying to please her father, and it’s only through her mother’s letters that she finds the answers she truly seeks, but will they be the ones she wants to hear?
As summer draws to a close, Ace and Reese are still very much enraptured even though the time has come to douse the flame and move on—but neither one of them is prepared to leave this BEAUTIFUL OBLIVION.
Beautiful Oblivion released a couple days ago - and I'm so excited!! I was introduced to Addison Moore's writing not too long ago, and I became an instant fan. *Reese’s POV
(Skinny dipping with Ace)
A devilish grin takes over as I swim over to him and boldly wrap my arms around his neck.
My bare chest brushes over his, and I die a little as an electrical current travels from his skin to mine. A heated breath gets locked in my throat as I try to stave off a groan. My heart thumps in my ears, my vocal cords go into lockdown.
Dear God. I’m holding Ace Waterman in the nude—his naked everything just inches away from mine, while the lower half of my body roars out an invitation for him to come inside.

Review: Wicked Thing by Angeline Kace (and giveaway!)
Title: Wicked Thing
Series: No
Author: Angeline Kace
Published: September 26, 2013, Accendo Press
Format: Ebook received for review
Carmyn Rafferty witnessed the aftermath of her mother's affair. She learned at a young age not to trust anyone. Especially not your spouse. So she's planned. She's planned every detail of her life: who her husband will be, what their careers will be, what their lives will be like. All to avoid the pain of infidelity.
Dallas Brown lives according to his own terms. He doesn't do relationships, he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him, and he doesn't live up to anyone's expectations.
When Carmyn's fiancé cheats on her, it sends her into a whirlwind of one-night stands with the most infamous player on campus. She can't seem to stay away from this tough guy and his dangerous motorcycle. Everything about him is the complete opposite of who she'd planned to fall in love with: tattoos, dark stubble along his jawline, and hair that brushes his shoulders.
As Dallas and Carmyn begin to fall deeper and deeper into each other, they learn that love can truly be a wicked, wicked thing.
So Angeline Kace has done it again. She makes me so mad!!! She gives me these great characters to read about, and bam! Then a few hundred pages later, the book is done and I’m left trying to remember what life was like when I was reading about them :)
I was a bit nervous before I started this book. I love Kace’s Vampire Born series, and I was worried about the transition to New Adult. But this book was flipping awesome! No need to worry, Angeline was able to cross genres with ease. And as a reader, I loved that this book had absolutely no similarities to her other books (other than being awesome!)
Wicked Thing is the story of Carmyn and Dallas. Both of them have cheating in their past on their parents part, and it has helped shaped who they are now – people who don’t necessarily want to find themselves in a relationship. Something I love about the New Adult genre, it’s usually involving people who think they know what they want. They fall in love, and they fall HARD. Carmyn and Dallas thought they could be just friends, and that’s what they get for thinking!
Individually I really liked these characters. Carmyn is struggling to find out who she is after catching her boyfriend being a total asshole. She’s caring and thoughtful, although there are definitely a few times in this book I wanted to shake her and tell her to wake up and see what’s right in front of her!
Dallas is a swoon worthy hero. He’s artistic, tattooed, he rides a motorcycle and has a bit of a bad boy image. He’s everything we fall all over ourselves to get to, right? I loved this man, even though at times he was a bit pessimistic. He does portray himself as a bit of an asshole at times, not wanting to owe anyone for anything. He was even callous at times. But in the end, he is packing a heart of gold, and that is worth the wait.
Dirty Dancing, as in the movie with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, is featured several times in this book and its done to perfection! If you love this movie like I do, you definitely want to read this book. It made me giggle and give the deep dreamy sigh watching things unfold.
She glances down at the bulge in my pants and smiles, stepping back. My grin settles crookedly on my face. “I thought you weren’t looking for anyting.” The look in her eyes says she’s clearly looking for something now. And she just found it.
“I’m not.” Her eyes meet mine. “You came looking for me.”
I chuckle. I did. I reach forward and cup her face in my palms, locking my lips again with the woman who smells like an angel, but kisses like the devil. I stroke the devil’s tongue with mine. She makes a sound so full of pleasure and invitation, I pick her up, wrapping her legs around my hops. She’s drunk, but she sure aas shit knows what she’s doing. I spin us around so her back is resting against the wall and cup her perfect ass.
She pulls her head back slightly and whispers, “I only want this one night.”
Angeline Kace’s writing was smooth and easy to follow. It grabbed me in and made me read the book in one day, actually. I flew through the pages, gobbling up each word. The story was just fun to read. There were some delicious kisses and some hot scenes. The drama was spot on. Just all in all it was a really good book to read, and I think fans of the New Adult genre will totally dig it.

Review & Giveway: 3:AM Kisses by Addison Moore
Title: 3:AM Kisses
Series: 3: AM Kisses #1
Author: Addison Moore
Published: September 17, 2013
Format: Ebook provided for review
Baya Brighton is looking forward to her first year at Whitney Briggs University, new friends, dorm life, and finally being close to her brother again. Love is the last thing on the list, but when Baya meets her brother’s roommate she begins to have thoughts and feelings that make even her blush.
Bryson Edwards has a secret he prefers buried in the past and long forgotten. He prefers loose girls, fast cars, and long nights working at the string of bars his family owns. When his roommate’s sister shows up on the scene, she’s far too innocent and sweet for him but he can’t shake Baya out of his mind and worse, it looks like she’s seeping into his heart as well.
Baya seems determined to show her brother she’s not a little kid and equally determined to use Bryson’s body to prove her point. It’s been made pretty clear that Baya is off limits to Bryson but their undeniable sparks explode into a whole lot more than just a few 3:AM KISSES
Addison Moore has made me a fan with 3:AM Kisses. If you haven’t read her, I highly suggest you give this book a try. It was funny, sexy, sweet, romantic, and even had a touch or two of scary! Right away, like as soon as the prologue, I like Addison Moore’s voice. Through the book her style of writing is very comfortable and playful. I can’t even count how many times I smiled or actually laughed out loud.
Baya is a freshman at Whitney Briggs college. First thing when she arrives on campus, she is exposed to Bryson Edwards. I really loved Baya. This girl was freaking hilarious. Love glove, kitty, penis pocket (a favorite of mine!), squeeze box, ditch, Furby, and yes, even vagina. These are just some of the names Baya calls hers (and others’) lady bits. See, when she gets to good ol college, it’s like there is sex everywhere. Her roommate, her brother, her new friends. Everyone is having sex. It definitely lent itself to some really funny situations and terrific one liners. And beyond that, Baya proved herself to be a loveable character. She’s trying to show her brother, Cole, that she isn’t a child. And when she meets Bryson, well, it’s not long before she is falling for him.
And better yet, Bryson is falling for her, too. Oh lord, I loved this guy. Bryson has some secret through most of the book, and it has been tearing him apart for years. There are a couple people at school who have known Bryson forever, but no one is telling Baya. But it doesn’t matter, because Bryson is giving his heart to Baya, and I love how open and honest he is about that with her. He doesn’t play games or string her along, or play a game of hot potato with his heart. He wants her. He cares for her. He tells her. There were some points during his point of view that I felt got a little repetitive when he is thinking about his love for Baya. All of the “forever…” talk began to be a little bit of overkill. Sweet overkill, but hey, he’s a young man in love.
The rest of the characters in this book triggered the gambit of responses from me. There is Cole, Baya’s brother. I liked him, but man, Cole needed to take a chill pill. His over protective behavior got to be a bit much at times, but it was nice to see it come from a place of love rather than something negative. Baya’s new friends Laney and Roxy were seriously awesome. I think everyone should have a Laney and Roxy in their lives. Aubree is a she-bitch wolf, and I didn’t like her conniving ass at all. And there were some other characters that were all very vivid, even though they played minor parts.
The storyline was pretty good. It wasn’t very dramatic for the most part, and that was a nice change for me. It was nice to just be along for the ride and fall in love. For most of the story, worrying about Cole is the biggest problem. Other things do come up, but really, for the majority of the story it was just a nice lighthearted read.
“Oh, yeah, “ he groans. “You’re so wet.”
“That’s because we were in the hot tub, “ I whisper through a smile.
A dull laugh pumps from him. “And here I thought you were ready for me.”
Read for him. Right. Crap. I’m such a moron. Who the hell did I think I was sleeping with Bryson without at least brushing up on my sexual terminology? I’m beyond ridiculous to think I was just going to casually pick things up as we went along. I should have logged hours watching porn instead of reading Yates for Lit. It’s like I’ve got no fucking priorities. I should have read the Karma Sutra – shoved in Cole’s face when he asked what I was reading. How do you like my book boyfriend now, bitch?
Let’s talk about some heat? Kisses, oh my goodness, the kisses. Bryson and Baya could definitely tear it up when it comes to the kisses. I’m a sucker for a good kiss, and this book did not let me down at all. And when it came time for the sexy naked time, I definitely was not let down there either. There were some seriously sexy scenes in this book.
So do I recommend this book? Yep, I sure do. It was fun and funny. It was sexy. 3:AM Kisses was just really enjoyable!
(Baya’s Point of View, with Bryson.)
“Okay!” I scream through my laughter. “You win.” I fall back on the boulder and he rolls on top of me, refining his torment technique.
“Say uncle.”
“Uncle!”
“Say Bryson’s the best.” He slows his movements while I try to catch my breath.
“Bryson’s the best.” It gurgles from my throat with laughter. “You’re great, and I’m not.” My hands tracks down low on his waist and he catches me by the wrists.
“I think you’re pretty great, Baya,” he whispers just over my lips. Our eyes lock with a magnetic pull. I place my hand over the back of his neck and rise to meet his lips.
