Playlist Day 2 - A Little Too Much by Lisa Desrochers

A Little Too Much
Lisa Desrochers

In the follow-up to Lisa Desrochers’ explosive New Adult novel A Little too Far, Alessandro Moretti must face the life he escaped and the girl he loved and left behind.

Twenty-two year old Hilary McIntyre would like nothing more than to forget her past. As a teenager abandoned to the system, she faced some pretty dark times. But now that’s all behind her. Hilary has her life on track, and there’s no way she’ll head back down that road again.

Until Alessandro Moretti—the one person who can make her remember—shows up on her doorstep. He’s even more devastatingly gorgeous than before, and he’s much too close for comfort. Worse, he sees right through the walls she’s built over these last eight years, right into her heart and the secrets she’s guarding.

As Hilary finds herself falling back into love with the man who, as a boy both saved and destroyed her, she must decide. Past or future? Truth or lies?

Hey everyone!  Welcome to 2014!  I hope you had a safe and happy holiday season!

So today I have a playlist post for A Little Too Much by Lisa Desrochers.  Hope you like it!

T.A. Foster

Trying her best to mend a broken heart, Ivy Grace travels to hot and sultry New Orleans, the set of her latest novel turned movie. There, she does her best to focus on polishing up the screenplay when the film's lead actress goes missing. Throw in a budding romance with the movie's heartthrob and the reappearance of an old flame, and Ivy's strength, resolve, and heart are put to the test as she works to solve the mysterious kidnapping.

The undercover witch, who craves a regular life, learns she will need more than her Time Spell to fight the evil plaguing New Orleans. New spells, new adventure, and new love take Ivy on a whirlwind journey of magic that unlocks more questions than answers.

Hey everyone!  Today I have a fun post for you - a playlist!  I don't know all of these songs, but I definitely know some.  Like The Band Perry? I just love love love them!  Hope you enjoy the post!  What do you think?  Is this going to get added to your TBR?

by T.A. Foster
Like most authors, music is an integral part of my writing process. I will literally play the same song over and over until I have a scene written exactly how I want it. I put together the playlist that I primarily used to write Cover Spell with a little background on how important these songs were to me while I wrote the second book.

Fade Into Darkness Avicii
This song felt like a good in between scene song. The lyrics do have a very relatable translation when I think about Ivy’s Time Spell.

Blurred Lines Robin Thicke
I know this song became “the song of the summer,” but I was listening to it in April when I was writing the Easy Eddies dance sequence for Ivy.

Hey Pretty Girl Kip Moore and Good Night for Dancing Josh Abbott Band
Evan Carlson loves country music. These songs fit perfectly with Evan’s style when he and Ivy have their moment on the dance floor.

Back to Me Without You The Band Perry
Every girl has a breakup song. This one resonated for Ivy when she first arrived in New Orleans.

Padam Padam and La Vie En Rose Edith Piaf
I needed some authentic French tunes that would help create Josette’s mood in my head as I wrote her scenes with Luke. There’s no one better than Edith Piaf for that.

A Friend of Yours Frank Sinatra
This Sinatra song was recorded in 1945. The lyrics were fitting with the secret relationship that Luke and Josette maintained. It was nice to have Blue Eyes in the playlist mix.

Come & Get It Selena Gomez
Ivy has a moment when she is determined to get what she wants. This song helped me create her sassy attitude for that scene.

Let Him Fly Dixie Chicks
This is an oldie from my own collection. Sometimes you need a good breakup song to help channel the characters’ emotions.

See You Again Carrie Underwood
I heard this one day when I was writing dialogue for Ivy and it brought the scene together.

T.A. Foster is a Southern girl whose heart and spirit are connected to the beach. She grew up catching rays and chasing waves along the North Carolina Outer Banks and now resides in the state with her adventurous pilot husband, two children and two canine kiddos.

Her long love affair with books started at an early age, and as soon as she was able, she transformed imaginative stories into words on paper. Time Spell is T.A.’s debut novel, and the first in a series about a very adventurous, clever, and magical girl named Ivy.

T.A. has an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. When she’s not chasing her two-legged and four-legged children or trying to escape for date night, you can find her reading, writing or planning her next beach trip.

Guest Post/Giveway: Take Me by TA Grey

Take Me
(The Untouchables #1)
T.A. Grey

SHE MAKES HIS BLOOD BURN

Dominic Blackmoore meets the woman who captures his mind and body with a look and he’s instantly taken with her. When he was ordered to take another mate quickly after separating from his ex, he loathed the idea. However, after catching sight of his bruid he quickly changes his mind. He finds her utterly captivating, sensually erotic, and yearns to learn everything about her.

BUT SHE'S NOT HIS BRUID

The woman he’s mistaken as his bruid is none other than the event planner, Felicity Shaw, for his mating ceremony. Now Dominic will do everything it takes, even lie to the woman he craves, to keep her at his side. He needs to mate with his bruid in order to win his political campaign but he finds himself falling in love with Felicity Shaw. In the end he must choose between work or love. He may make the right decision, but is it too late to save his lies from hurting Felicity?

HE TAKES HER BREATH AWAY

Felicity Shaw wants more in life. She’ll even lie to get it, which is exactly how she lands a job with the illustrious Blackmoore family. However, it’s the head of the vampire household, Dominic Blackmoore, that has her heart racing and breath catching. The man consumes her unlike anyone ever has before. She can’t resist him though she tries. As she’s forced to work with Dominic she tries to keep away from him but he doesn’t make things easy.

She may want him with a passion she’s never experienced before, but she will not be with him when he’s mating to another woman. It’s either her or no one. But one terrible lies seals their fates together in ways neither of them imagined, threatening their love and the very fabric of their relationship.

Did you have a playlist writing this book if so what was it and the inspiration behind each song?

Normally I don’t listen to music while I write because I find it distracting. However, there are some songs that played in my head for certain scenes in the novel. In Take Me, we meet the Blackmoore family—a family of aristocratic, world-famous vampires. Each of these brothers come from different mothers but all have the same dad. So naturally, they’re all a bit different. The hero of the story, Dominic Blackmoore, has a brother who’s a rock star. His name is Lucas Blackmoore and he’s in LBB, the Lucas Blackmoore Band. At a particular jaw-dropping scene in the book, Lucas performs a concert before running after a particular human who’s caught his eye. ;) No spoilers here!

When I was writing his scenes, music is such a part of him that it flowed into me. So for his scenes I listened to some music by men whose voices, if meshed together, sounded how Lucas sounds to me. Below are a list of songs that inspired Lucas Blackmoore. Especially those by Muse, whose music aptly represents LBB’s sound in m mind.

1. Madness by Muse

2. Plug in Baby by Muse

3. Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing by Chris Isaak (I love this one so much!)

4. Sexy Can I by Ray J & Yung Berg

That’s it! Like I said, I don’t listen to music when I write but these four songs were on repeat whenever Lucas Blackmoore came on screen. Whew, that man makes me sweat just thinking about him.

Thank you so much for having me! I loved having a chance to discuss some of the music that went into this story. :)

I love to write the kind of stories that will keep you up late at night and make your heart pound. It’s my goal in writing to make each new book better, more exciting, more action-packed, not only to test myself as a writer but to keep thrilling you. I’m always trying to push the boundaries with my imagination, and yours, to create something new and different.

If you’re a fan of paranormal romance novels then you’ll love my Bellum Sisters Trilogy. This isn’t your typical romance story, so be prepared for a kick of heat and tons of action. The Bellum Sisters Trilogy has received excellent reviews from paranormal bloggers and two of the three books are Top Picks from Night Owl Reviews.

Now, if you like shorter books with quite a bit of heat, humor, and action then I’d recommend the Kategan Alphas series. This erotic series features the sexy Kategan family and all the lucky men and women who get to meet them and complete their lives.
