Well, well, well... This is my first book by Bonnie Bliss, but I can tell you right now - it won't be my last. Right away the author had me under lock and key. She made me care of these characters before she got them busy.
Lucy is an overworked nurse. She loves her job, but man, she needs a break. She's a natural sub, but hasn't been involved in the lifestyle for a while because if she can't have the one she want, no one else measures up.
Tom is a fireman. Yeah, I could stop the review right there, couldn't I? Haha. He is a fireman, and he is a Dom. And everyone knows it, including Robert, who is having a Halloween play party. And Robert has a few tricks and treats up his sleeve. He's getting Lucy and Tom together tonight, and then the party will really begin. Cause he knows something Lucy doesn't know - Tom is crazy for her, too.
So in this story you get a bit of the unknown, a masquerade, if you will. I enjoyed the aspect, but I don't know how well I believed the fact that masks could really keep people hidden. But I guess they do, right? Tom and Lucy end up together in the dungeon. It was a perfect night....until it wasn't.
The scene between the two of them was hot. It was sexy and steamy and full of dramatic tension. I couldn't read fast enough. It was perfect.
And then something happens and it made me curse out loud! I'm serious!! One of these characters acted out of character, and mucked it up like characters often do.
I'd love to see more of Tom and Lucy's story. They are perfect for eachother, and I was happiest when they were together, even when they weren't getting it on. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick and spicy BDSM read. Bonnie Bliss easily brought these characters for life, and made me a quick fan all at once.
