Grease Slapped by AM Jones (Review)

Title: Grease Slapped
Series: Ink Slapped #2
Author: AM Jones
Release Date: May 2018
Format: Ebook received for review

Eli Gregor’s hole couldn’t be any larger as he fights to redeem himself. When tragedy strikes, he learns a few things about holes as Taylor explores the values of right and wrong.

Caught between better judgment and desire, Taylor and Eli find themselves at a crossroads—should they make the best decision for their careers or give in to their undeniable connection?

A torrid tale that weaves humor, drama, and sexual tension, Grease Slapped will leave you reeling and wanting more.

*Grease Slapped contains explicit language and sexual content. It's the conclusion of Ink Slapped.*

I meant to get to this review last week, and time just totally got away from me.  Don't you hate when that happens?

But more to the point!  Grease Slapped!! Before I read it, I thought to myself, what the actual heck is Grease Slapped?  Not the book, but the words.  But as it turns out - it is something totally awesome, and made me go "awwwww".

This book continues Eli and Taylor's story.  The second book wasn't as amped with the drama and gut wrenching need the characters experienced in the first book.  They know each other a bit better, but things are far from ok.  There's things at play, and a lack of communication between them works in their benefit one moment, and against them the next.

I really liked getting a chance to see them a bit more clearly in Grease Slapped.  I felt like they grew, and weren't so possessed by lust or hormones or whatever it is that makes you insane for a person when you first meet them.  They still have that insane intensity for each other, but now it is tempered with a bit of wisdom for the situation.  Both Eli and Taylor realize they need to take care of themselves and their own situations before they can be with the other.

I think this is a good solid pair of books, between Ink Slapped and Grease Slapped.  In Ink, it was a lot of intensity and OMG, and in Grease we got more growth and maturity.  Together, they round out the messy circle between Eli and Taylor in the perfect combination of reality, romance, and the shit we sometimes have to go through to get to the one we love.
Author A.M. Jones is a hopeless romantic with a lewd mind. She resides in Tennessee and writes about anything that strikes her inspiration and creativity. Her strength in characterization makes realistic elements of humor, angst, and drama jump from the page and into your soul. Ms. Jones’ other half has published books in dark fantasy and continues to do so.
