The heart wants what the heart wants—a concept that free-spirited author T.M. Dabney, never understands until she lays eyes on her new cover model, Eli.

With her help, he pieces his life back together when his dreams dangle within reach and once again everything falls apart. And his success comes with a price he doesn’t want to pay.

Caught between better judgment and desire, they find themselves at a crossroads—should they make the best decision for their careers or give in to their undeniable connection?

Sometimes you read a title to a book, and you get a clue of what's inside.  With Ink Slapped, I had no idea what I was getting into. Honestly, I didn't even read the blurb.  AM Jones wrote it, I wanted to read it.  And I'm currently about 65% through Grease Slapped.  I couldn't even wait to start it until after I finished the review.

Taylor is an author, and she writes about wicked shit like slaying demons.  She's an interesting character.  At times she's bold, but a lot of time she has anxiety issues.  What I do like is that she finds ways to push through that anxiety - it doesn't get the better of her.  Taylor seems like she has a good head on her shoulders, and yep, I like her.

The guy that catches her eye is Eli, lead singer of a band.  He's sexy and mysterious, and he has a great personality.  He really seems to be in tune with Taylor's personality, and the just click together.  It's like you can tell they are in the same puzzle.

And then there's drama.  A lot.  Neither one of them is exactly single, and that's a problem when there is such obvious chemistry.  A lot of people might not even read a book they suspect has adultery, usually I'm one of them... sometimes.  But this book is complicated and messy in it's relationships. Nothing is black and white.  And I'm not saying they jump into an affair, that it's lies and cheating.  But what I am saying is that this book is much like real life.  Sometimes you have to wade through a mess to get to the otherside.

I love AM Jones writing.  I've never been to Tennessee, but I felt like I was right there in Nashville with the sun shining on my face and the night sounds wafting around. Taylor seems like a girl I would like to hang out with, and so does Eli for that matter.  They are two people that just can't seem to line up in the time space continuum.  But there is a bright shiny spot that I love - and his name is Crockett.  Picture your best friend, always there for you, and always happy and wanting what's best for you.  He's funny and just awesome, and I found myself smiling every time he was on my page.

So if I were you, I'd say give this book a try.  I know I couldn't wait to get the opportunity to read more of it every day, and I'm quickly devouring it's sequel.

Author A.M. Jones is a hopeless romantic with a lewd mind. She resides in Tennessee and writes about anything that strikes her inspiration and creativity. Her strength in characterization makes realistic elements of humor, angst, and drama jump from the page and into your soul. Ms. Jones’ other half has published books in dark fantasy and continues to do so.
