Review: Off The Shelf by Lucy Felthouse

Title: Off The Shelf
Series: No
Author: Lucy Felthouse
Published: May 30th 2012 by Xcite Books
Format: Ebook provided for review

At 35, travel writer Annalise is fed up with insensitive comments about being left on the shelf. It’s not as if she doesn’t want a man, but her busy career doesn’t leave her much time for relationships. Sexy liaisons with passing acquaintances give Annalise physical satisfaction, but she needs more than that. She wants a man who will satisfy her mind as well as her body. But where will she find someone like that? It seems Annalise may be in luck when a new member of staff starts working in the bookshop at the airport she regularly travels through. Damien appears to tick all the boxes; he’s gorgeous, funny and intelligent, and he shares Annalise’s love of books and travel. The trouble is, Damien’s shy and Annalise is terrified of rejection. Can they overcome their fears and admit their feelings, or are they doomed to remain on the shelf?

This story turned out to be a really fun read! It wasn’t overloaded on sexual content, but there was definitely enough to keep it interesting! I really enjoyed Annalise and had fun on her trip through this story. Damien is also quite the treat, and in more ways than one!

First of all, Annalise has the dream job of travel writer. I mean, who wouldn’t want to travel the whole world and do exciting things and write about them…. And get paid for it! Seriously, that alone gave her big bonus points. And then she meets Damien in the airport and he is shy and sweet, yet completely not shy about wanting to get to know her. Their initial meeting was very sweet, and definitely put her brain into Damien mode.

When you find that certain someone, you just know. They set you on fire, and the last thing you want is water to put it out. Even when you are confronted with sexy Portuguese men who would normally light another fire for you, you can only focus on the one your heart desires. And that really made this story, and Annalise, special.

Review: On The Prowl by Lucy Felthouse

Title: On The Prowl
Series: No
Author: Lucy Felthouse
Published: May 2012, House of Erotica
Format: Ebook provided by author for review

Three hot erotic stories with themes of ménage, uniform fetish and sexy fun in a warehouse…

On the Prowl
There’s a serious man drought in Jolene’s town, and she seriously needs to get laid. Fed up of waiting around for someone to come along, Jolene goes out on the prowl. It turns out to be her lucky night when she not only meets the handsome Blake, but his friend Pete—and they’re both interested in Jolene. Jolene can’t possibly decide between the two delicious men, so she decides to have them both—at the same time.

Double Vision
Becky’s a military wife with a uniform fetish. She loves nothing more than having fun in the bedroom with her squaddie husband, where they share and act out many of their fantasies. However, there’s one fantasy that she’s never divulged, as it breaks their rule about bring other people into their sex life. One day, though, Becky decides to bite the bullet and tell Paul everything. She never expects him to make her fantasy come true. But then, Paul’s a very resourceful man.

A Stroke of Peach
Eleanor’s a mature art student with a part-time job in a stationery store. One shift sees her sorting out the little-used upstairs warehouse. Completely engrossed in her task, she’s startled by the appearance of her colleague, Jimmy, and accidentally covers him in ink. This signals the start of a war, which ends up with the two colleagues in a very compromising position in a dusty corner.

I’m not going to go too far in depth about these stories, the blurb sums it up for the most part. This collection was under forty pages, a great quick read. I think the stories were hot and sexy, and I was thoroughly entertained throughout.

In On The Prowl you get to live out a fantasy of a bit of stranger ménage. I thought it was fun, and I was cheering Jolene on. Good for her! The characters were exciting, and it was definitely a bit of a thrill to be along for the ride.

In Double Vision, Becky’s husband takes things to the next level. I have to say, his idea was ingenious and I loved it. Not only did he find a way to fulfill his wife’s fantasy and keep their sex life red hot. But he also did it in a way that kept their marriage and their bond intact. I thought it was a great story and this one was my favorite of the three.

In A Stroke of Peach you get to experience something on the younger, freer side of sex. Their encounter in the warehouse room was totally fun and uninhibited. Not that I have ever done it, but the little marker war takes you back to the youthful side of things. Kind of like food fights or pillow fights. Except this one ended a little bit more maturely than those do!
If you are looking for something quick and fun, and you want a variety – I would definitely recommend this collection. The stories were well written and very well rounded for being so short in length. I am definitely a fan after reading this, and I can’t wait to read more.

Flesh Spills and Secret Thrills
When Lorella’s boyfriend Chris suggests that she’d look sexy in a corset, she finds the mere thought hilarious. A big girl like her would look ridiculous in such a thing! But as she’s always up for trying something new, she hits the online shops. When her new corset arrives, Lorella can’t wait to try it on and see how she looks, ready to surprise Chris when he gets home. But when she does, she gets a thrilling surprise of her own.

Miri on the Wall
Callum’s a prolific artist, with many beautiful models on his books. But there’s only one that stands out for him – Miri. He’s never had the courage to do anything about his feelings, though. When a client commissions a nude painting of a rubenesque woman, Callum has a dilemma. Miri is the only suitable model – but will she agree to the project? And how will Callum cope with the object of his love and lust being completely naked in front of him?

Carnal Praise
The Bishop is visiting and Caroline is practising her solo when her husband stops accompanying her on the piano and initiates a far more carnal kind of praise.
