Review: Carnal Compromise by Robin L Rotham

Title: Carnal Compromise
Series: Carnal #2
Author: Robin L Rotham
Published: 2012 Samhain
Format: Amazon ebook

When you’re down on the farm, things are bound to get dirty!

Joe Remke has just one qualification for his lovers—he wants them gone before sunrise, which makes his new bunkmate AJ about as safe as a woman can be around him. It also makes his determination to sleep with his boss downright stupid, because if Brent ever gives in, he’ll be looking for a new job.

Ladies’ man Brent Andersen knows sex with his right-hand man Joe is inevitable, but he’s not going down without a fight. Putting the new female hired hand in their cramped RV was a stroke of genius, taking the heat off him while protecting her from the horny guys on his custom farming crew.

AJ Pender’s hard-bodied roomies may hide their feelings for each other from the rest of the crew, but they aren’t fooling her—Brent and Joe are hot for each other, and it’s all she can do not to cry at the thought. If they ever found out she fantasizes about being the meat in their farmer sandwich, they’d probably die laughing.

Fortunately for Brent and Joe, fantasies have a way of revealing themselves and AJ’s are right up their alley. But even threesomes have their risks, and AJ can serve as a buffer for only so long before the tension between them explodes.

Warning: Flying BOBs ahead—and that’s just the warm-up! Strap yourself in for a wild ride complete with ménage, m/m, and a voyeuristic f/f scene hot enough to make three grown men beg for mercy.

Oh my freaking goodness. If FrankenDom made me a fan of Robin L Rotham, then Carnal Compromise made me a fangirl. Carnal Compromise was beyond scorching in its heat, touching in its emotion, and it made me crave to be in this farming world that Robin has created for these characters.

The storyline is about three people; AJ, Joe, and Brent. Brent owns a farming company, and Joe and AJ work for him, along with a couple others. Actually, the three of them share a trailer together. And while this started out as something innocent, the way it ended up is definitely not. See, all three of these people are lusting for each other. Some know, some don’t. It’s one great big lusty triangle of angst and well… lust. Lust to the umpteenth power. I mean, if you could bottle the sexual tension between these three you could probably produce enough electricity to run a small country.

AJ is the female of the trio, and it’s a secret what those initials stand for. Don’t worry, you’ll find out. Anyways, she is a strong willed young woman who was raised around farming. Making her way in an industry dominated by men isn’t easy, and it only speaks to her fortitude. I loved her. She is a little naïve, but she doesn’t let that hold her back. She is a full force ahead type of woman. When AJ gets some help from another character to feel a bit more feminine and happy about herself I damn near cried because I was so happy that she was getting the things she needed to be the best AJ she could be. She had to learn to love herself for what she is, and this other character was an instrumental part, I think.

As for Joe, he is definitely the Alpha of the group. Well, for the most part anyway. There are times when that gets switched up for one reason or another. He is a bit of a player with a secret past. Near the beginning of the book he does something that got me so mad at him I could have thrown my kindle. My only hope was that it was for an unknown reason and he really didn’t want to act that way. He was acting so damn callous, I just hurt for the other characters involved in the scene.

Brent is the bossman. He really is a sweet and endearing man, and I love the evolution of his character throughout this story. At the beginning he was questioning his sexuality, even though in his heart he knew. But he was a solid rock to those he cared about throughout the whole thing. His constant support and his will to have the life he wants made his character probably my favorite.

And let’s talk about the sex. OH.MY.GOD. Male on male, male on female, female on female, twosomes, threesomes, oh my! There was a lot of exploration in this book, and it was so damned hot. It was high quality on top of high quantity, and if you want to read something that drips from the pages, this is the book to read. Every sex scene was awesome, there wasn’t a single one that just made me go “ehhh”. Nope, they were all beyond terrific. And so freaking hot. And sexy. And I had quotes to share with you, but then when I was looking over them for the review, I realized they were all spoilers. So no quotes for you!!

So Robin L Rotham did it to me again. Complex characters and a highly emotional read, packed on to some of the hottest sex I’ve ever seen. Seriously – this book had one of the hottest and sexiest blow jobs I’ve ever read about, and it was between two men. This woman knows how to lay the words down. I connected to these characters time and again. When they hurt, I hurt. And when they were happy, damnit, so was I. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this book. So read it!!

Bite Size Review: Alice's Alpha by Ann Gimpel

Title: Alice's Alpha
Series: Wolf Clan Shifters Book 1
Author: Ann Gimpel
Published: July 2013, Liquid Silver Books
Format: Ebook provided for review

It’s 1936. Thirty-year-old Alice has almost given up finding a man. Between civil engineering and mountain climbing, her interests are so masculine she scares men away. A poor route choice lands her next to horror movie star Lon Chaney’s cabin deep in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She’s wary when Jed, a strikingly handsome man, offers her shelter.

By the time she discovers he’s clan leader for a pack of wolf shifters, she’s in way too deep to back out. Her carefully tended wasteland of a heart cracks wide open and all her preconceived notions shatter. Snared by the mate bond, Alice discovers passion hot enough to change her forever. She’s just getting used to Jed when his lieutenants show up, and she discovers she’s mated to all three.

***Bite Size Review***

It's 1936 and Alice is a forward thinking woman.  She wouldn't be content to sit home and be a wife, she wants to see, to learn, to do.  This is something I find myself liking about her.  One day, while mountain climbing with her best friend, Brent, he suddenly has to leave without reason.  He tells her to quickly find her way to the car and lock herself in.  Seriously, what?  This just seemed very... unlikely. First of all, he supposedly is her best friend, but he's leaving her on the side of the mountain.  And secondly, she doesn't flip out on him?  I repeat, seriously.... what? And then she runs into a man at Lon Chaney's cabin.  His name is Jed, and I did find myself liking him quite a bit. He was definitely the Alpha of the wolves, and acted it.

Review: A Toy For Two by Jennifer Cole

Title: A Toy for Two
Series: Le Club d'Esclavage, Book 2
Author: Jennifer Cole
Published: March 2009, Lyrical Press
Format: Ebook received for review from publisher

Will Megan play it safe, or follow her heart and become a toy for two?

Megan Washington is the perfect daughter...as long as she keeps her wild streak hidden. Only after a trip to the Le Club d'Esclavage does she give free reign to her sexually adventurous spirit.

Troy Simon and Ransom Seager need the ideal partner, and not just any submissive will do. Their third must match their passions and indulge in the roleplay both men find so arousing. With trust building and temperatures rising, will Megan's powerful politician father destroy the growing bond between these three hearts?

Ok, today’s review is for A Toy For Two, which was my favorite of the three books. Yesterday’s review focused on Natalie, who met the masked man of her dreams at the Le Club d’Esclavage, and A Toy For Two focuses on Megan… And Troy… And Ransom. Yeah, now you are seeing why I liked it, I know.

Review/Giveaway: Illicit Intent by Tina Donahue

Title: Illicit Intent
Series: Appointment With Pleasure, Book 3
Author: Tina Donahue
Published: June 7, 2013 - Ellora's Cave
Format: Ebook received for review
Tour: Lit Connect

What’s your wildest erotic wish?

For Piper, that’s easy. Two Alpha males who ravish her like marauding pirates and find her curves beyond luscious. She knows her type isn’t for every man…certainly not Guy and Joel, right? Guy’s tall, dark and sinfully virile. Joel’s blond and bronzed. They’re freaking gods, escorts her friend hired so Piper’s thirtieth birthday is unforgettable with the bondage and submission she’s fantasized about. Carnal games that awaken Piper’s sensuality, while her voluptuous figure and sweet vulnerability fuels both men’s animal hunger.

One evening of decadent pleasure isn’t enough. Piper aches to perform ménage acts with them for agency clients who like curvy women. A wicked idea, except for her family’s ties with law enforcement, the threat of exposure. Is it worth the risk?
Hell yeah. By day, she’ll be good. During their wanton acts, the three of them will explore their growing bond as they’re very, very bad…

For a book that I wasn’t too sure of when I first started it, it sure ended with a bang. And there was a whole lot of banging in the middle too (sometimes I laugh at my own jokes!)

After an afternoon of mojitos and cosmos, Piper confesses her m-f-m fantasy to her best friend, Elaine. Later, on the way out to a night on the town, Elaine brings the subject up in conversation again. At first, this section felt a bit forced to me, not really a very natural feel. I understand why it was there, there had to be a reason for what was to happen next. But the conversation just didn’t feel like something my friends and I would say, so I had a bit of issue relating to that.

Elaine turns out to be what I will forever more refer to as “The Best Friend Ever”, and she presents her overworked and undersexed friend with a little present for the evening. And by little, I mean HUGE. She’s gotten her a penthouse stocked full with a couple luscious men, named Guy and Joel. They are paid escorts, and they are there to do her bidding for the whole night. So yeah, I liked Elaine. *grins*

As for Piper, she’s had a bad relationship and her self-esteem has taken some knocks. Who hasn’t been there, right? But once she is able to just relax and be herself with these two gorgeous men, it will be the beginning of a life change for her. I like Piper. She is sensible and intelligent. And throughout the story she shows magnificent tenacity. She’s likened to Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page in terms of her looks, and it’s nice to hear about a voluptuous woman.

Guy and Joel… *sigh* They give her a magnificent evening. They are attentive and caring, intuitive about her needs and seeking her pleasure is a goal. Guy is a bit more reserved as the story goes on, and Joel is a bit more outgoing. But when you get the three of them together it’s no holds barred fun – and it gets very hot!

After their sexy night, Piper decides she needs more of them. And the lengths she will go to to achieve that are astounding. I can’t say I blame her one single bit! The guys felt a connection, too. I really loved the dynamic between the three of them. The guys have history and they have great chemistry with Piper. You can practically see the currents run between them, they’re so connected.

All in all I really enjoyed this story. It started a bit bumpy, but as it went on I was reading as fast as I could, anxious to see what would happen next. The sex is delicious, and very naughty at times. The direction this book takes is pretty unique, and I think if you enjoy m-f-m or erotic romance, this would be a perfect selection for a quick read!

“What’s your fantasy about?” he coaxed.
She swallowed and closed her eyes.
To gain strength to answer? He wasn’t about to ask. Acting on pure impulse, Guy slanted his mouth over Piper’s, liking how her breath caught then rushed out as he slipped his tongue between her precious lips.
Mmmm.
Her mouth was loose beneath his, exquisitely soft, its heat welcomed. She tasted of something crisp and refreshing, toothpaste perhaps, and the champagne she’d had. She surrendered to him as though she had no will to do otherwise.
Nice.
He deepened their kiss, sweeping his tongue over hers. Tentatively, Piper responded as though testing his response. Guy would have bet several years of his life that she was more concerned about his pleasure than her own.
That wouldn’t do. Tonight was hers. No matter what it took, he’d make it the most memorable she’d ever known, giving her what that jerk Kevin couldn’t or wouldn’t.
Guy explored Piper’s mouth with great tenderness, taking his time, enjoying her pleased sigh. To him, kissing was the most intimate thing a man and a woman could do. It bared the soul and reached the heart far more easily than sex ever could. That was about lust. This was about being close, telling another person—without the hassle of words—that they mattered. They were special. You liked them.
Piper rested her hand on the side of his neck and ran her forefinger over his ear, then eased a lock of his hair back. She made the small gesture seem as though she was taking care of him as she’d tried to do with the drink.
Her effortless generosity spiked Guy’s arousal more than he’d expected, far greater than he could resist. His gentleness became a memory, his need and hers all that mattered. He worked his hand beneath Piper’s hair and cupped the back of her neck, then lost himself in the moment. Impassioned. Reckless.
They made sounds that betrayed their excitement, the spark of desire burning bright within each of them.
Guy felt it in Piper’s hunger for him, his undeniable craving for her as a desirable woman, someone to be valued.
At last, he needed a breath, sensing she felt the same. Ending their kiss—the first of many tonight—he eased back.
Her flushed skin was several shades darker than her natural color, proving again she’d enjoyed their brief intimacy. Slowly, she opened her eyes. They were dazed with lust, her caution gone.
Guy teased, “Did your fantasy include more than that?”
“Oh yeah,” she breathed, her lips still wet with him and slightly bruised from his passion. “Lots and lots.” She paused to take in more air. “You can’t even imagine.”
He fought another smile. He’d seen and done it all, though never with someone so sincere and vulnerable. Somehow, that made Guy want to devour Piper, while also protecting her. A curious mixture of emotions he wasn’t about to explore.
“Like what?” Joel asked.
Guy suddenly remembered his buddy. So did Piper. She regarded Joel’s fingers stroking the heavenly swells of her breasts. Those luscious mounds wiggled prettily with her heightened breathing.
Damn, she was lush, her body ripe the way a woman’s should be. No bony, haute-couture contours that only a high-fashion designer might covet. She was a woman built for a man, her curves a welcomed sanctuary.
“Tell us,” Guy prodded.
With her attention darting from him to Joel and back, Piper mumbled, “I’m your, ah…”
“What?” he asked at her pause.
She covered her face with her hand, then peeked through her splayed fingers. “God, I can’t say it.”
“Sure you can.” Joel brushed her hair aside and nuzzled her neck.
Her hand fell to her lap. She moaned shamelessly.
Guy went to one knee again and eased her skirt above her panties, the same red shade as her dress. A birthday girl dressed in her Friday best, just waiting to be unwrapped, like a longed-for gift. Pulling in a deep breath to settle himself, he stroked the lingerie’s lacy edge.
Piper whimpered, then blurted, “I’m your sex slave. I have to do whatever you two say, everything both of you want, or else.”
“Or else what?” Guy asked.
She made a strangled sound that sounded embarrassed yet aroused.

Joel stopped suckling her neck and kissed her cheek. “We punish you?”

Available Now:

Ahwooooooooooh!!!!  Ok, that was my wolf call, for those of you who haven't picked up on that yet lol.

Scarlet was an amazingly hot little story, and if this is the type of story that Celia Kyle writes about, I am so on board. Her writing style has a smart as flair to it, and I'm immediately sure that I want to do shots with Celia Kyle.  She has a sense of humor, and an amazing imagination (for which I am now immensely grateful!)

Let's start, shall we?  First we meet Scarlet, the oldest of the Wickham triplets (that means more books in the series!!).  She is a firestorm of personality, and I immediately get a little girl crush on her.  See, in this book if you are 30 and unmated you get to go to the Gathering, which is like a big wolfy speed-dating marathon.  Lucky for the Wickham triplets, none of them are mated.  Except none of them are happy about this Gathering!!! I don't see why the heck not, in their world if you bear the Mark it means you are getting mated to two Alpha males.  Double the pleasure, double the fun...  So when these triplets get to the Gathering, and the first thing Scarlet does is school a couple of douchey wolves, and get them kicked out, I know she is completely awesome.  And so do Keller and Madden, who right away sense she is their mate and ask her to talk to them further at dinner.

Ok, I am not going to spoil this.  But let me tell you... that dinner was HOT, and it wasn't because the chef was cooking on high temps.  Holy heck-o-wolf, their meeting at the restaurant was erotic as sweet-baby-wolfen-hell.  Seriously, if it doesn't make you sweat, then you should go to the doctor cause there is something wrong with you.  And then soon after, they are supposed to go get to know eachother a little bit better... Except those asshats come back, and need to be dealt with.

Oh yeah, that means there is some awesome action in this book too, which I am a complete sucker for.  And then its back to the hotter-than-a-sauna-on-fire other type of action.

This book was fantastic, and I am eagerly waiting to hear how things go for Scarlet's sisters, Gabby and Whitney.  If you are into wolfy menage, and you probably are if you are like me, then this book will be a must read!!

Scarlet continued clicking down the wide, marble-tiled hallway, passing boutique after boutique of overpriced souvenirs and gifts. Nearing a store boasting high-end purses and accessories, she paused, pretending to look over the offerings. In reality, she took a peek at Mr. Gun Guy in the glass’ reflection.

He didn’t even pretend he wasn’t watching her. No, he stood eight feet back, hands behind him, and flat-out stared at her.

Well, she wasn’t about to have him follow her to dinner. She turned and faced him head on. “Is there a reason you’re following me?”

“Yes.” His voice was a low baritone, but it did nothing for her.

She waited for further explanation but didn’t get anything. “Okay, why?”

The man’s look remained bland. “Because the Ruling Alphas ordered your protection.”

She rolled her eyes. “Well, we’re back to why.”

“It was ordered.”

Scarlet huffed. “Do you know why and you’re not telling me, or are you simply a drone doing as he’s told?”

That earned her a quick twitch of his lips, and she knew he was trying to suppress a smile. “A little in between.”

“Fine. God forbid we complain about the Ruling Alphas and their high handedness. This is because my sisters and I got into it in the ballroom with Garron and Quentin, isn’t it? Keller and Madden tattled to them. It wasn’t our fault, you know.” Then again, the assholes had been tossed from the Gathering, so it made sense that the head honchos needed to be informed. “Well, if you’re gonna follow me around like a puppy,” she winked to take some of the sting out of her insult, “you might as well walk next to me.”

Scarlet gestured for the guard to approach, but the man stood still, his body frozen in indecision.

“Come on, I promise not to tell the big bad Ruling Alphas you actually talked to me while you acted as my guard. Hell, who knows when I’ll actually get to meet them. I’ll probably forget you by then.” She winced. “Not that you’re forgettable, I—” She huffed. “Just talk to me.”

“I don’t think—”

“Well, I do.”

She stomped toward him and tugged on his arm, ignoring the sting that accompanied touching a male not meant for her. Stupid Mark. Now that she’d met her mates, pain would accompany any contact she had with other men, human or wolf. At least until she completed her mating with Keller and Madden. Thankfully she wasn’t alone in the ouchy department. It was the same way for the guys.

“Yes, Alpha Mate.” The man grumbled but relented. Aw, her males had already spread the word about their connection. That had to be the reason she’d been upgraded from simply “Marked” to “Alpha Mate” by the guard. How sweet. Sweet-ish. She sorta wished they hadn’t jumped the gun, but Alphas were Alphas.

As uncomfortable as the wolf appeared, she didn’t bother trying to talk to him further. She simply felt better that he wasn’t following her and making her feel like a stalked chubby gazelle.

In less than a minute, they strode into the restaurant side by side, the maître d’ quickly leading them toward the back. Together, they wove their way through the room, sliding around various tables, and she noticed most were occupied by two men and a single woman.

Well, it looked like quite a few were already performing the Test of Proximity. Although she had a feeling the test was all for show. Much like the dinner she was about to enjoy.

Before long, she stood before her two wolves in the very back of the restaurant, and both men rose upon her approach. It was Madden’s growl that broke the sweet moment.

She needed to remember he was the more aggressive of the two, and apparently he didn’t like other men close to her.

Hoping her mother’s teachings had been correct, she stepped in front of the guard, redirecting the wolf’s attention. “Madden?”

The rolling sound cut off the moment his eyes met hers, the last of his air hissing from his lungs in a sigh. “Scarlet.”

She waved behind her. “The Ruling Alphas said I needed a guard. No need to get testy.”

Madden furrowed his brow. “Wha—”

Keller cut him off. “I’m sure they want to keep you safe.” He smiled and stepped around the table, drawing her forward with a hand on her lower back. The seductive scents of heated wood, raw power and man surrounded her, and she melted into his side. “You already know how to handle our Madden.”

She chanced a look at the wolf in question and noted his smile. “Perhaps.” She turned her attention back to Keller. “I’m not sure how to handle you, though.”

“I doubt that’ll be a problem, sweet. I’m like any other wolf. Give me something to snack on and you’ll have my attention.” She didn’t miss Keller’s not-so-subtle innuendo.

“Right,” she drawled.

Keller pulled out the chair and she sat between the two men. His heat warred with the inferno that flowed from Madden. Two sides of the same coin, so alike, yet so different.

The guard that had accompanied her took up a post in front of the table. He and four others essentially made a wall-o-wolves, cutting them off from the rest of the diners. Talk about overkill.

Review: Claimed by Dragons by Amber Skyze and Katalina Leon

Title: Claimed By Dragons
Series: Bag of Tricks #2
Author: Amber Skyze and Katalina Leon
Published: September 2012 Loose ID
Tour: Yes, BTS Tours
Format: Ebook provided for review

In an odd Wiccan shop in Salem, Jael pulls an unusual stone from a witch’s wish bag. Little does she know her wildest dreams of adventure and a torrid affair with two gorgeous co-workers are about to come true--in spades.

Jael’s dreamy boss, Roarke offers her the assignment of a lifetime: a photo safari to Mount Kilimanjaro. The African scenery is stunning but the unexpected arrival of her two office crushes, Roarke and Kypton ignites her passion. Just as the trio is getting steamy at a beautiful waterfall, danger intervenes forcing the men to reveal their secret. They're dragons. And now, to save her life, they have no choice but to abduct a startled Jael to their mountain lair on Kilimanjaro.

In the dragons' love nest, Jael learns the truth about their origins and explores all the erotic possibilities two eager lovers can offer. Love awakens, but the guys are being stalked by a covert group of dragon hunters and withholding a life or death secret that will push Jael’s courageous heart and commitment to the limits.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: anal play/intercourse, male/male sexual practices, menage (m/m/f).

I was really drawn into this story from the beginning to the end.  It was nonstop action and drama, and I was glued to the pages.  And on top of all that, it was written by two authors, and I couldn't tell at all who wrote what.  They work awesomely together as a team, and whatever they did - they did right.

The concept that Jael was drawn to this dragon's egg stone, and the powers it had over her was fascinating.  The witch in Salem had told her she needed to bury the egg in order to find true love, but I was still a bit sad when she did decide to return it to nature.  I mean really, the egg had some serious keeping qualities!  But nonetheless, she returns it to nature and true to the witch's prophecy, she finds true love.

Roarke and Kypton, dragons.  I love dragons, and these two guys are definitely getting added to my dragon list.  Their names were not exactly my favorite part of the story; they felt a bit too made up for my tastes.  But the men behind them were fabulous.

Roarke is the alpha dragon; he is big and beautiful.  I really enjoyed him.  There were times he felt a bit whiney, and near the end there were definite times I didn't feel he acted like an alpha should.  With that being said, he was definitely acting like a man who'd lost the love of his life. I love his need to protect his mates, and the absolute love he showed for Kypton and Jael.

Kypton is the beta dragon; and he is sleek and fast.  He definitely seemed to take on the alpha role at times, and I think under different circumstances he could have really shown as an alpha.  Never the less, he was smart and cunning, he loved  Jael and Roarke with every fiber of his being and I loved him.

Jael, as a human, is a pretty good character.  I can only imagine how hard it must be to meet two dragons and then find out you are intended to be their mate.  I wish they had been honest with her about every detail right from the beginning, but then I guess it wouldn't be much of  a story without any drama.

The heat was terrific in this story.  For those of you looking for a straight up m/f/m menage story, you'd better look elsewhere.  The majority of this was m/m/f.  It was written very well, all love scenes were detailed perfectly yet very sensual.  These authors definitely have a talent for letting the emotion show through in a sex scene.

Overall, I am so happy I read this story.  The time it took flew by, and I would gladly read it again.
