Vlog/Giveaway: Covert Craving by Jennifer James
Covert Craving
Jennifer James
She just stripped in front of an NYPD detective...
The glow-in-the-dark water at Camp Sunny Woods left Chloe Sanders with the ability to disappear from sight.
Thirteen years later, she uses her “gift” to take out criminals when she can. If she’s got to be part of a freak show, she’s going to do some good while in the buff.
And he’s enjoying studying every luscious curve…
Color blind detective Jacob Greiff smokes to weaken the overwhelming messages his nose sends him. One summer camp trip was enough for him. His priority right now is busting the vigilante leaving burglars tied up with panty hose and women’s scarves.
He thinks he’s hallucinating when he sees a petite, bare foot brunette in an enormous trench coat at his crime scenes because for the first time in years, he’s seeing someone in full color.
He’s not sure he’s buying it, but Chloe sure looks great when she’s “invisible.”
Despite his own supernatural abilities and the raging lust between them, Greiff wonders if Chloe isn’t some kind of nut who gets off on public nudity. She insists she can disappear from view when naked, that he’s the only one who can see her when she’s in the buff.
Their shared past comes to a treacherous intersection when a man shows up at Chloe’s apartment and informs them at gun point it’s time to report for duty—or else.
So here we are for the Covert Craving tour. Today though, we have something a little bit different. Jennifer decided to surprise me with something I love... Zombies!!! And on top of that, she made a vlog for the post. How wickedly awesome is that?? So sit back and watch! Enter the giveaway at the end, too. Good luck!

Format: ebook provided for review
Five years ago she ran. . .
Kayla is back where she belongs: in Jack’s arms. But after the initial explosion of pent up longing and need have passed, she has to convince him to complete the bond between them.

An Alpha wolf, Jack waited for Kayla to return to him and protected her from afar. When he senses her outside his home, he isn’t beyond setting a trap meant to entice her back.

He needs her trust and with it, her submission.
If you’ve spent any amount of time talking to me, I’ve probably recommended a Jennifer James book to you. I love her. She gives me the giddies and she’s done it again with Marked.

So I'm kind of addicted to Jennifer James. Not only is she an amazing person who is hilarious and cracks me up, but she is a fantastic author. She is able to cross genres and still keep the appeal in her books. I haven't read Marked yet, but I will be very soon - and I'm getting anxious to. So when she approached me to post something up for it, I was like, "ummmm, hell yeah!" So here we go! Here is a simple promo just to intro you to the book, and of course, and awesome giveaway. Good luck!

Jennifer James:
I have a bad habit of creating series. I love to read them, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I keep writing them. *grin* Last week I released my very first Indie title, a short story set in a universe called HOWL. This universe will be in the spirit of Felicity Heaton’s Vampire Realms, with lots of different characters, book lengths, and storylines. I hope you’ll enjoy my take on werewolf soul mates in this first installment, MARKED.
To celebrate the release of MARKED, I’m running a Rafflecopter through May 31. In it, there’s a chance to win a gorgeous book thong I created! I also two some Jennifer James swag packs up for grabs. But don’t worry, if the Rafflecopter doesn’t smile on you, I’m hosting a Facebook party May 31. There will be ebooks, awesome swag, and lots of games.

Review: Long Time Coming by Jennifer James
Title: Long Time Coming
Series: No
Author: Jennifer James
Published: August 2012, Etopia Press
Tour: No
Format: ebook provided for review
One scorching weekend of no-strings sex? Or the first two days of something special…Going home for his older sister’s wedding has been a real pain. Unable to get a room at a local hotel, he's stuck in his parents’ spare bedroom, in a twin bed too short for his six-four frame, with nothing to do but fantasize about his sister’s maid of honor and her little purple bikini. Joey Sanchez: the woman he’s had a crush on for the last ten years. All grown up in all the right places.
And it just so happens she’s had a crush on him too.
Lucky for him, Joey knows what she wants. In the pool, in the movie theater, with some very hot text messages, she quenches his desire and demands no promises. She’s married to her career, and that’s the way she likes it. But with the weekend winding down, Rob realizes she’s only left him wanting more. And he doesn’t want to spend the next ten years without her…
Rob is home for the big event, his sister’s wedding. And her BFF Joey is there too. Rob has always had a crush on Joey, and now Joey is ready to take matters into her own hands. Jennifer James has written every teenage boy turn hot and sexy man’s dream come true with this story. Rob and Joey are the source of several epically hot and sexy scenes that had me curling my toes and thinking “dammmmmmnnnnnn!”
This was a quick read because I really didn’t want to put it down. For one thing, it’s written from Rob’s point of view, which is something I don’t see too often. And you know what? I liked it. Sometimes it’s nice to see what a man thinks (but not all the time fellas, we’ll let you know when we want your opinion, mmm’kay?) But in this case Rob is very likeable, and as the story goes on and it becomes clear his feelings are more than sexual, the more I like him. And I am so excited for him that his fantasies have finally come true with Joey.
And heck, Joey? That woman simply exudes awesomeness. She is calm, cool, and collected. She’s hot and sexy, and quite inventive while being spontaneous and playful. But I have to tell ya, if I could take her out of the story and put me in her place, you’d have to consider it done!
So all in all I give this story lots of thumbs up! It was super hot with lots of teasing and sneaking around to add a bit of fun. The characters are so likeable and real. I really hope Rob gets everything he wants, but if he doesn’t – I’ll give him my number!

Hunger Embraced
Jennifer James
She’s fed up with being fed on.
All Miranda Thibodeaux really wants to do is survive corporate hell and be left alone. But as the daughter of the Incubi king, being left alone isn’t on her schedule. And as an avatar to a goddess with multiple personality issues, taking things in stride isn’t either.
Daniel looks like an ordinary surfer boy—T. T. B.--Tall, Tanned, and Blond. Hot he may be, but ordinary he’s not. Beneath the pretty packaging lies a ruthless warrior, a servant to the Vampire Council. His mission is to find Miranda and present her to the council, then get the hell out of Dodge before he loses his focus. The last thing he needs is the distraction of the testy female.
When circumstances force Miranda to turn to T.T.B. for help, they both end up with more than they bargained for. And that normal human life she wanted? Not really doable when everyone wants a piece of her...

Why Fictional Candy is AMAZEBALLS
I have to thank Liz for having me on again today…she’s so sweet lending her blog out to me. I’ve been on Fictional Candy three or maybe four times before, and instead of talking about me me ME today, I want to talk about Liz. Her website. And how awesome she is.
The Header
It’s pink! It’s black! There’s a zombie. I love zombies. I really love zombies eating lollipops instead of, I don’t know, the fleshy part of my ass. (Which is like, the whole thing, but you get what I mean.) But for real, how cool and perfect is that header for Fictional Candy? It’s got a whole scary/sexy/cool thing happening, which totally segues into my next point….
The Content
I subscribe to Fictional Candy, and I’m always surprised at what arrives in my inbox. Liz reviews everything…I mean, everything. A choose your own adventure zombie apocalypse book. Vampires. Young Adult. Menage. BDSM. Guest posts with authors that I totally love and have a creepy girl crush on…..*grin* And giveaways! How many awesome giveaways are there? Swag, gift cards, ebooks, oh my!
The Webmaster
Liz is hands down one of the nicest bloggers on the web. She’s supportive, funny as hell, and has great teeth. Check out her picture! Look at that smile. I bet she flosses. I worked in dentistry for twelve freakin’ years, and I can tell these things. (oh, and BTW, don’t bother lying about it to your dentist or hygienist or assistant. They always know if you’re not flossing. Just putting it out there. *grin*)
So there it is. My love note to Liz of Fictional Candy. Thanks for all the posts, support, and hilarious e-mails with Grumpy Cat.

***Interview***
Hey Jennifer! What’s up?
Plot Bunnies! They’ve taken over my life lately! I’m plotting two super seekrit projects: One with my critique group that will center around a shared world with sexy night clubs and some really fun supernatural creatures.
The other project is one that I plotted via text with my editor Rachel Firasek. I can’t tell you anything about it though. What I can tell you is that it’s totally different than anything I’ve written so far… and I’m really stoked about it. Well, maybe not totally different. It’ll have my signature smokin’ hot sex scenes, a fun, spunky heroine, and the awesome hero who didn’t know how empty his life was until his lady came along and wrecked up his well ordered world. *grin*
So you’ve visited Fictional Candy a couple times promoting different books. Today we’re here to talk about Hunger Embraced. What’s the scoop on this story?!
Hmmm….vampires, demons, a Celtic goddess with multiple personalities, shapeshifters, and candy. Lots of candy. I set the book here in my home town (well, near to my home town...like, twenty minutes away) because I when I walk down some of these streets, I’m convinced I see all sorts of supernaturals. So having a story set around here was so fun for me!
This book is actually the first full length novel I wrote. I’ve had three other pieces released before it, but I have to admit that Hunger Embraced is my favorite. I’m a huge Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance fan, so writing a series of my own in that genre makes me a happy author.
Mmmmm, Incubi , Succubi and Vampires. Sounds like a recipe for some hot action. How hot does it get in Hunger Embraced?
*Ahem* Well, the heat starts in chapter one…and doesn’t let up. LOL. When your heroine is a succubus, you gotta feed her. So, there’s some ménage scenes, and a dubious consent scene, and a really great bath tub scene with a bunch of mirrors….
And I refuse to take all the responsibility for my dirty mind. Some of it is Rachel’s fault…she leaves me these notes in the margins when we edit, and then I can’t help the things my muse does.
This book is quite a bit longer than your other books. How was that? Did the story burst forth from your fingers, or was it difficult?
This book spilled out in a rush. It was written in a month or two. Then it went through several rounds of rewrites and edits. And I love the world. I love creating new creatures and rules to play around with. Miranda, the heroine, literally “talks” in my head all the time. I hear her at least once a day…which is weird. But when I’m writing one of her books, she’s got lots to say.
The other books were written as a “break” from my Hunger series. One of the best things to do as a writer is to let the story rest and come back to it later.
This story also gets into the paranormal aspects, which your other stories have not. Was that super fun?
Yes! Like I said before, I lovelovelove all things paranormal. Movies, books, comics…I enjoy the heck out of imagined worlds and all the exploration you can do in them. There’s nothing more relaxing to me than letting my mind wander and coming up with weird stuff.
I enjoy contemporaries too….and I actually have some stories that are in my ideas folder for later when I want a project to work on. But with a paranormal I get to do so much more creation and follow more plot bunnies.
So Jennifer, what do you do when you are not writing? Give us the deets! (and yes, I really did just say deets)
I go to school (I’m actually about to enter my final semester!) I watch my kids…ride my bike…walk on the treadmill and think about writing and my books….I love to read…search the Internet and Netflix for zombie movies I haven’t seen…sew…knit here and there, but it’s usually a hot mess…
If you had to be attacked (in any manner) by a Vampire or an Incubus, which would it be (and why)?
Hmmm…well in my Hunger series there are four basic types of vampires…and they can interbreed. So, I could technically get attacked by an Empathic vampire (Feeds on emotions) who can also feed on sex….Nomnomnom… *grin*
I think I’m going to say that I pick Gregory from Hunger Embraced. He’s Daniel’s (the hero) best friend, and I kinda have a crush on him. There. I said it. He lives in my head and it’s weird. But there it is. Anyway, Gregory is fun. Flirty, handsome, sweet, and Scottish. He also makes really great homemade bread.
So, Gregory can attack me anytime.
However he wants.
Are there any works in progress you can share with us?
Hunger Unbound, book two in the series is in edits right now. Not big edits with the editor, I’m polishing it up to send to her for submission.
Covert Craving is a paranormal novella that I “finished” a few months ago…and then decided I wanted to expand into something longer. So I’ll be revisiting that soon.
And there are my super seekrit projects I mentiones above.
If you could only read OR write, which would you choose?
Write. Because when I don’t write, I turn into an evil beast.
And if you could have a Pegasus or a Unicorn, which of those would you pick?
Unicorn. They can purify water with their horn and there is a terrible lack of clean drinking water in the world. Of course I’d have to hide my unicorn so no one stole it, but I think giving people clean water would make it worth it.
Live forever or be a millionaire now?
Gah! Uh…well, if I lived forever I’d get lonely. I mean, if I was the only one, it’d be so depressing. Like being Dr. Who. So, I’ll take the moohlah.
Cleveland or…. Toledo! (Ok, Toledo is the first other OH city that came to mind)
Cleveland all the way baby. I’ve only been to Toledo a few times, and it wasn’t really pleasant. Of course, that may have been just the area I was in. But I love Cleveland. We have loads of cool stuff around here.
And I think that about sums it up. It was fun getting to know you a bit more! Thanks for coming by!
Thanks for having me and letting me ramble.

When circumstances force Miranda to turn to T.T.B. for help, they both end up with more than they bargained for. And that normal human life she wanted? Not really doable when everyone wants a piece of her...
***Interview***
Hey Jennifer! What’s
up?
Plot Bunnies! They’ve taken over my
life lately! I’m plotting two super seekrit projects: One with my critique
group that will center around a shared world with sexy night clubs and some
really fun supernatural creatures.
The other project is one that I
plotted via text with my editor Rachel Firasek.
I can’t tell you anything about it though. What I can tell you is that
it’s totally different than anything I’ve written so far… and I’m really stoked
about it. Well, maybe not totally different. It’ll have my signature smokin’
hot sex scenes, a fun, spunky heroine,
and the awesome hero who didn’t know how empty his life was until his lady came
along and wrecked up his well ordered world.
*grin*
So you’ve visited Fictional Candy a couple times promoting
different books. Today we’re here to
talk about Hunger Embraced. What’s the
scoop on this story?!
Hmmm….vampires, demons, a Celtic
goddess with multiple personalities, shapeshifters, and candy. Lots of candy. I
set the book here in my home town (well, near to my home town...like, twenty
minutes away) because I when I walk down some of these streets, I’m convinced I
see all sorts of supernaturals. So having a story set around here was so fun
for me!
This book is actually the first full
length novel I wrote. I’ve had three other pieces released before it, but I
have to admit that Hunger Embraced is my favorite. I’m a huge Urban Fantasy and Paranormal
Romance fan, so writing a series of my own in that genre makes me a happy
author.
Mmmmm, Incubi , Succubi and Vampires. Sounds like a recipe for some hot
action. How hot does it get in Hunger Embraced?
*Ahem* Well, the heat starts in
chapter one…and doesn’t let up. LOL. When your heroine is a succubus, you gotta
feed her. So, there’s some ménage scenes, and a dubious consent scene, and a
really great bath tub scene with a bunch of mirrors….
And I refuse to take all the
responsibility for my dirty mind. Some of it is Rachel’s fault…she leaves me
these notes in the margins when we edit, and then I can’t help the things my
muse does.
This book is quite a bit longer than your other books. How was that?
Did the story burst forth from your fingers, or was it difficult?
This book spilled out in a rush. It
was written in a month or two. Then it went through several rounds of rewrites
and edits. And I love the world. I love creating new creatures and rules to
play around with. Miranda, the heroine, literally “talks” in my head all the
time. I hear her at least once a day…which is weird. But when I’m writing one
of her books, she’s got lots to say.
The other books were written as a
“break” from my Hunger series. One of the best things to do as a writer is to
let the story rest and come back to it later.
This story also gets into the paranormal aspects, which your
other stories have not. Was that super
fun?
Yes! Like I said before, I
lovelovelove all things paranormal. Movies, books, comics…I enjoy the heck out
of imagined worlds and all the exploration you can do in them. There’s
nothing more relaxing to me than letting
my mind wander and coming up with weird stuff.
I enjoy contemporaries too….and I
actually have some stories that are in my ideas folder for later when I want a
project to work on. But with a paranormal I get to do so much more creation and
follow more plot bunnies.
So Jennifer,
what do you do when you are not writing?
Give us the deets! (and yes, I really did just say deets)
I go to school (I’m actually about
to enter my final semester!) I watch my kids…ride my bike…walk on the treadmill
and think about writing and my books….I love to read…search the Internet and
Netflix for zombie movies I haven’t seen…sew…knit here and there, but it’s
usually a hot mess…
If you had to
be attacked (in any manner) by a Vampire or an Incubus, which would it be (and
why)?
Hmmm…well in my Hunger series there
are four basic types of vampires…and they can interbreed. So, I could
technically get attacked by an Empathic vampire (Feeds on emotions) who can
also feed on sex….Nomnomnom… *grin*
I think I’m going to say that I pick
Gregory from Hunger Embraced. He’s Daniel’s (the hero) best friend, and I kinda
have a crush on him. There. I said it. He lives in my head and it’s weird. But
there it is. Anyway, Gregory is fun. Flirty, handsome, sweet, and Scottish. He
also makes really great homemade bread.
So, Gregory can attack me
anytime.
However he wants.
Are there any
works in progress you can share with us?
Hunger Unbound, book two in the
series is in edits right now. Not big edits with the editor, I’m polishing it
up to send to her for submission.
Covert Craving is a paranormal
novella that I “finished” a few months ago…and then decided I wanted to expand
into something longer. So I’ll be revisiting that soon.
And there are my super seekrit
projects I mentiones above.
If you could
only read OR write, which would you choose?
Write. Because when I don’t write, I
turn into an evil beast.
And if you
could have a Pegasus or a Unicorn, which of those would you pick?
Unicorn. They can purify water with
their horn and there is a terrible lack of clean drinking water in the world.
Of course I’d have to hide my unicorn so no one stole it, but I think giving
people clean water would make it worth it.
Live forever
or be a millionaire now?
Gah! Uh…well, if I lived forever I’d
get lonely. I mean, if I was the only one, it’d be so depressing. Like being
Dr. Who. So, I’ll take the moohlah.
Cleveland
or…. Toledo! (Ok, Toledo is the first other OH city that came to mind)
Cleveland all the way baby. I’ve
only been to Toledo a few times, and it wasn’t really pleasant. Of course, that
may have been just the area I was in. But I love Cleveland. We have loads of
cool stuff around here.
And I think
that about sums it up. It was fun
getting to know you a bit more! Thanks for coming by!
Thanks for having me and letting me
ramble.
