Nice Girls Don't Ride by Roni Loren (Review)

Title: Nice Girls Don't Ride
Series: Standalone
Author: Roni Loren
Published: April 21, 2015 - Penguin Intermix
Format: Galley
Pages: 98 per Amazon

Natalie Bourne thinks she has the perfect night planned for her twenty-first birthday. But when her car breaks down and her boyfriend bails on her, she’s left stranded in an auto shop dealing with a way too cocky, way too hot mechanic, who seems to be intent on pushing every button she has.

Monroe Hawkins knows he shouldn’t be messing with a girl from the uppity private college. Especially when he can tell she sees him as the help. But he’s having trouble resisting the redhead with the smart mouth and the killer legs. So when Natalie’s night goes from bad to worse, there’s no way he’s letting her spend her birthday alone. He makes her a deal—he’ll take her home but not until the sun comes up.

Ten hours, one motorcycle, and the city of Austin at their fingertips…things are about to take a major detour. And soon, there may be no U-turn in sight.

Big dreamy sigh.  I can't tell you all the ways that I loved this novella.  It was beyond awesome.  And little secret, this is definitely a long-standing fantasy of mine!

So I'm not going to rehash the blurb.  In a book that's less than 100 pages, there's just no need.  But what I will tell you is that I loved both Natalie and Monroe.  Natalie had a bit of an attitude as she broke out of her self-imposed shell, and she really came to life. That is exactly what I like to see in my heroines.  She turned into a badass butterfly, and it was great to see her really come into her own and be comfortable with who she really is rather than try to live up to someone else's expectations.

Now Monroe, oh lawdy, he was something special.  Sexy with an air of danger, but an utter sweetheart and good guy.  He's pretty much the perfect man.  He takes Natalie out, and the night was just, well, magical.  I love how he knew the real her before she even knew.

These two take a chance, and it is perfect.  I loved everything about this novella and I definitely recommend it.  There's just a small bit of heat, it's mostly not about that.  It's about the connection these two have, and that makes it great.

Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has.

Though she’ll forever be a New Orleans girl at heart, she now lives in Dallas with her husband and son. If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars concerts.

She is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the The Loving on the Edge series and other sexy things.
