Yesterday I posted my review for One Night Of Sin, so today is One Night of Scandal. This one is Reed and Darcy's story - and it's completely terrific. I'm telling you - you'd better read this series. Trust me, you will enjoy these dirty talking fighters!
Reed is the second of the three co-owners of Sin. He and AJ have been friends since they were little kids. Reed had a rough childhood, for sure. But now he's getting himself together, and he's a responsible adult. The thing is, he needs to make everyone else see that he's not the same guy who used to play the field and start fights. I really respected him for this. He's grown up, but still managed to keep a handle on who he really is.
Darcy is... well, she is AJ's ex-girlfriend, which is where the drama really comes in. As for the woman, herself, I liked her well enough. There were a few times I thought maybe she wasn't standing up and being the woman she needed to be, but in the end, she came out ahead of the game. She's a teacher, and that profession really suits her. I found her to be a very caring person.
"I want you, Darcy. I.Fucking.Want.You."
Shock slammed into her, along with a burst of arousal that seized her core. Oh God. She couldn't beleive he'd said it. Couldn't believe she'd pushed him to.
Because now there was no way to unhear those blunt words. No turning back from them.
"Is that what you wanted to hear?" he said angrily. "I've wanted you forever. Every goddamn time I see you, I've had to force myself not to blurt it out. I can barely even look at you, for chrissake, because I'm scared you'll see it in my eyes. Is that what you want to hear?"
Reed and Darcy were both very hesitant to do anything together because of AJ. Bro's before ho's and all that jazz. And Darcy felt bad for wanting her ex's best friend. But like they say, Darcy and AJ had an amicable break up. They were both very adult about it, they just weren't right for each other. When Reed and Darcy are around each other, you just know they are perfect together. The sexual tension and chemistry is palpable. The whole forbidden love aspect was just taboo enough to make it exciting and add that little extra thrill.
I can't tell you enough how hot these books are!! Reed and Darcy definitely don't let up on the chemistry level, and Reed proves himself to be every bit the sexy alpha dirty talker that Gage is. If you are like me, and you like it hot and passionate, you can't go wrong with this book!
