Hey all! Thanks so

because I’m a lover of books just like you guys are, I’m going to tell you my
FAVORITE books and/or series of all time (and I hope you guys comment back and
tell me yours. I LOVE a good book rec!)
So here we go, my
all-time favorite books and why I love them:
10.Duma Key by Stephen
King- This is one of those books that sticks with you. And not always in a good
way, lol. I loved this book, mainly because I love King’s writing style, but
also because it really weighed on me and to this day, I still think about it
and get all the feelz. So, comfortable to read or not, writing that can affect
you ten years after you’ve read something deserves some major kudos, no?
9. The Artemis Fowl
series by Eoin Colfer- I loved the crap out of this series. I loved the way our
anti-hero Artemis turned into a hero, I loved the secondary characters and the
fun, snappy dialogue, and creative world-building. I just couldn’t wait for
each new installment.
8. Eragon by
Christopher Paolini- Because dragons.
7. A Song of Fire and
Ice by George R.R. Martin- See above
6. A Girl Named Zippy
by Haven Kimmel- This one is so far away from what I normally read but it was
HILARIOUS. Like one of those books that makes you laugh so hard you snort even
if you’re waiting at the dentist’s office.
5.If Tomorrow Comes by
Sydney Sheldon- This is an awesome story about a woman who basically gets
screwed over by all these people and then turns herself into a con artist and
takes revenge on every one of them. It’s the kind of book that makes you want
to pump your fist like “Hell yeah!” as you’re reading.
4.Anna and the French
Kiss by Stephanie Perkins- *sigh* What can I say? Anna and Etienne stole my
heart. I was so in love with their tale and Paris by the end of it, I wanted to
move there myself! It was such a sweet story and the writing was fab. I usually
don’t read a lot of contemporary YA because I prefer to have my characters be
able to fly or something super fun like that, but in this case, no wings
needed. I have mad love for this book and this author’s writing style.
3.Harry Potter and the
Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling- This was a weird one for me because, while it was
my FAVORITE Potter book, it was my LEAST favorite of the movies. Maybe because
I was anticipating it SO HARD there was no way it could live up to my
expectations short of following the book word for word? That said, the book was
just bang up awesome-balls to me. I read it in one, crazed sitting and didn’t
sleep all night. In fact, I had to go to an appointment in the morning and had
to go un-showered because I didn’t finish the book until like five minutes
before I had to be there. GoF is was I refer to as an “I’ll go smelly” book.
It’s so good, I’ll go somewhere smelly just to finish it. That said, I loved
this whole series (with the possible exception of The Order of the Phoenix,
which I thought was a little slow, although that was my favorite of the movies,
so go figure!)
2.Sharp Objects by
Gillian Flynn- Okay, this one isn’t YA and is like a psychological thriller and
probably one of the most creepy, disturbing books I’ve ever read, but I LOVED
it. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the bad guy was and
just so engrossed, I could barely stand it. To my mind, Gillian Flynn is one of
the best writers out there right now.
1.Stardust by Neil
Gaiman- What I love about this book is that I love the movie just as much. It’s
pure awesomeness and fantasy and it has all this cool steampunkery and whimsy.
A perfect perfect read.

When she wasn't terrorizing Mother Nature, she was curled up under the covers with her nose in a book.
