She Wolf, by Elizabeth Morgan (Review)

Title: She Wolf
Series: Blood 0.5
Author: Elizabeth Morgan
Published: August 2014 (rerelease)
Format: Ebook received for review
Cover Art: Mina Carter

Dealing with the Rogue Werewolves terrorizing his Pack?

Simple.

Trying to convince his mate he does want to be with her?

Bloody impossible.

Owen MacLaren is the Alpha's son and the Pack's second, and he has never been one to let anything get to him. So when a bunch of Rogues begin purposely dumping mutilated bodies around the Pack Keep, he is more than ready to deal with the Werewolves responsible.

But one night off and a trip to a local strip joint for a colleague's stag night changes things, and Owen soon discovers he isn't immune to everything . . . .

Being an independent Loup and travelling the world? Easy.
Having to come home and face the Werewolf who broke her young heart? Challenging.

After five years away, Clare Walker finds herself back home in Scotland, working in a strip club. The tips are decent, and she gets to dance, but it isn't a place she thought she would ever be, let alone Owen, her Pack second and the mate she has always desired.

Although Owen is determined to prove he wants to be with Clare, things can't go smoothly between them, not when they have past issues to sort out and a bunch of unusual 'Rogues' to deal with.

Elizabeth Morgan is one of those authors who has the ability to write well across several genres (I actually have another book of hers I read and still have to post about, too, but that's another post for another day!)  Recently I read She-Wolf.  Actually, I read it very fast - I couldn't put it down.  It's the story of two wolves, Owen and Clare, and it was fabulous.

Excerpt & Giveaway - Claudine by Barbara Palmer

Claudine
Barbara Palmer

Maria Lantos has a secret. She’s a post-grad student researching early erotic literature at Yale who puts her studies to work after hours as a courtesan named Claudine specializing in erotic role play. Her allure and stock of sexual tricks command top dollar from international clients. When Maria receives anonymous text messages filled with chilling threats, she knows her secret is out, and someone is hunting her—someone who knows a lot about her past and who’s intent on playing a starring role in her present.

As Claudine, she loves the brief anonymous liaisons that allow her to explore the darker side of power and desire. But now it’s Maria’s turn. Two men—charismatic Yale professor Reid Whitman and her business manager, Andrei Barinov—will test the limits of her sexuality and safety, forcing her to discover the depth of the dark places within her.

Seven Sons by Lili St Germain - Release Blitz & Giveaway!!

Seven Sons
Lili St Germain

My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.

Including my innocence.

When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.

Before my father died, Dornan Ross and his seven sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.

I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I'm out for revenge.

But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.

I didn't expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.

Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice - Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

OMG, so how do you like that cover?  Freaking HOT! And the blurb?  I don't know how I missed this series before, but I am SOOOO on board now.  I need to read this!  So check out the post, enter the giveaway - and good luck!  I hope you all agree with me on this, it needs to be read!

Irresistible Force by D.D. Ayres (Review)

Title: Irresistible Force
Series: K-9 Rescue #1
Author: D.D. Ayres
Published: August 26, 2014 St Martins Press
Format: NetGalley - Thank you SMP!

When adrenaline runs high, so does the force of desire…

For Shay Appleton, it’s love at first sight when a gorgeous stray dog is brought into the animal shelter where she works. She just knows he’ll make a terrific watch dog—and with an abusive ex who won’t let go, she needs all the protection she can get. But Shay never suspected that her new pet is actually a trained police K-9 named Bogart—until Bogart’s even more gorgeous, human partner shows up on her doorstep.

Officer James Cannon is one tall, strong alpha male who’s convinced that Shay stole his dog. But once he gets closer to the suspect, he realizes that this stubborn, independent woman not only needs a guard dog, she needs James as well. It seems that someone from her past is stalking her, and threatening her life. When danger meets desire, will James risk his career and his best friend…to protect the woman who’s stolen his heart?

Irresistible Force is the newest release from author D.D. Ayres.  The blurb sounded great, and the cover was hot as hell – plus I seem to be in a little bit of a romantic suspense phase, so this book fit right in to what I was looking for.. I was very excited to try a new author – and I wasn’t let down.

Taking Control by Jen Frederick (Excerpt & Giveaway - Tiffany & Co Elsa Peretti Ring! )

Taking Control
Jen Frederick

I thought I needed only one thing in my life--the money and power to crush one man. But the moment I laid eyes on Victoria Corielli, my thirst for revenge was replaced by my craving for her.

No rule would keep me away; no obstacle too large to overcome. Not her will, not our differing social positions, not my infamous past. When she lost everything, I helped her pick up the pieces. When she trusted me with everything, she sealed her fate.

I've convinced Victoria she can put her heart in my hands. Now I have to protect it--from her shady stepfather and my business rivals, from enemies known and hidden. I'll do anything to keep her. And I might have to prove it, because now Victoria''s risking more than her heart to be with me; she's risking her life.

Today I just have a quick teaser about Taking Control, the second book in the Kerr Chronicles, by Jen Frederick!  I hope you like the taste, and good luck on the giveaway - it looks like an awesome one!

Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher (A Review)

Title: Mud Vein
Series: Standalone
Author: Tarryn Fisher
Published: April 2014
Format: Personal Purchase

When reclusive novelist Senna Richards wakes up on her thirty-third birthday, everything has changed. Caged behind an electrical fence, locked in a house in the middle of the snow, Senna is left to decode the clues to find out why she was taken. If she wants her freedom, she has to take a close look at her past. But, her past has a heartbeat... and her kidnapper is nowhere to be found. With her survival hanging by a thread, Senna soon realizes this is a game. A dangerous one. Only the truth can set her free.

Mud Vein… *sigh* What do I say about this book? I had really high hopes for it, and maybe that was it’s ultimate downfall with me. Whatever the case, it didn’t stay on the pedestal I put it on.

Primal Instinct, The Pendragon Gargoyles 0.5 by Sydney Somers (A review!)

Title: Primal Instinct
Series: Pendragon Gargoyles 0.5
Author: Sydney Somers
Published: August 5, 2014
Format: Ebook received for review
Cover Art: Crystal @ Rockin' Redhead Promotions

A Pendragon Gargoyles Prequel

For months Corrine Lawson has walked a fine line between reality and madness. The only thing keeping her sane is her sexy and mysterious next-door-neighbor, Ryker. Yet the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about him, the harder it becomes to resist the man who exposes her to a dangerous world steeped in myth and legend. Surrendering to him and the sizzling connection that burns between them means succumbing to the madness within, and that’s not a fight she’s willing to lose.

Both man and wolf, Gargoyle Ryker McKinnon has spent nearly a century tormented by his past, hungering only for vengeance—until he finds Corrine, a spirited human and the key to his redemption. Determined to use Cori as a pawn in a deadly game of revenge, nothing prepares Ryker for the staggering emotion her touch unleashes or the brutal need to claim her as his own.

When Cori is caught in the middle of a bitter feud and a centuries-old greed for Excalibur, will Ryker’s secrets destroy the woman he loves or finally awaken the fierceness inside her?

So this week I read Primal Instinct by Sydney Somers. My friend, Crystal, at Redheads Review It Better raves about her, so I definitely had to see what’s up. I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed!
