Quote-Tastic - For Real by Chelsea Cameron

I haven't done a Quote-Tastic in a while, and I thought today would be a perfect day to get back on board with it, so happy Monday, here I am!

Join us every Monday and share a favorite quote that's grabbed ya for one reason or another. Everyone's welcome to join in. Authors, bloggers, readers. The more the merrier! Just grab the button and toss up your post :) Don't have a blog? No worries, just leave your favorites in the comment section.

Today I chose to quote a book I also have up for review, so you can reach that review by clicking the book cover - cool? For Real was just such a fun read, it had so many quotable parts, I just had to share it with you.  You can even see more quotes on my review!

Jett shifts again, and his shoulder brushes mine and he moves a fraction closer to me as I try not to freak out. It’s only an inch closer and our shoulders have barely brushed. Nothing to make a big deal out of. I’ve touched boy’s shoulders before. I’ve had plenty of shoulder-touching experience. I’m not a shoulder virgin.

But wait, I have another!!!
Goodreads - Amazon - BN

Jett licked my face. I never thought someone licking my face would be anything but nasty, but Jett turned everything sexy. Like he was a wizard and could transform anything and sexify it. Wizard of Sexy. With his magic… wand. Thinking about Jett’s magic wand causes me to start giggling and I turn the water on in the sink just so he won’t hear me.

I think I’m losing it.

Quote-Tastic: Wicked Thing (Angeline Kace)

Monday!  That's means it's Quote-Tastic time!  This feature was created by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup so we can all share our favorite quotes with you!   So make your own post, or add your favorite to the comments.  And don't forget to check out the other awesome blogs on the linky too!

So today I read Wicked Thing by Angeline Kace.  I have a review tour stop coming up for it later this week.  I loved the book, read the whole thing today.  And while there were many quoteable moments, I'm choosing one of the heroine, Carmyn, with her best girl friend, Ava, as they have some fun in the water fountain at their school. The whole scene was just so much fun and it definitely reminded me of some of the lighter times with my own friends, although I definitely don't have a fountain to add to my night time resume.   Yet.

"Help me up, hooker."  She reaches her hand out to me, but I'm hesitant to take it.

"Crawl over here.  It's less grimy this way."

"Bitch, I am not crawling.  Just help my ass up!" We're both laughing.

"You're the one who wanted to frolic in the fountain.  So frolic."

She does some ugly, half-body roll thing toward me.  "I'm a mermaid!"

"Oh God, no.  You see?  This right here is why I've avoided doing this with you for so long.  You are not a mermaid.  You don't even look nearly as badass as Ariel did.  You look more like a drunk, handicapped person.  Maybe even a drunk, handicapped person on 'shrooms."

She does it again. "How about now?" she asks, flinging her hair.

"Definitely not."  My best friend is a lunatic.  Hilarious, but insane in the membrane.

Quote-Tastic: 3:am Kisses (Addison Moore)

Mondays bring... Quote-Tastic, which is reason enough for me to love them!

This feature was created by Anna @ Herding Cats & Burning Soup as a way for us all to share our favorite lines from books!  So if you have a blog, create a post and join the linky.  If you don't have a blog, then leave yours in the comments!  We all love seeing them every week, so don't be shy!

I almost didn't do Quote-Tastic this week.  I had one picked out, then as it turns out I had already used it in a review.  Nothing else really spoke to me.  Then I started reading 3:AM kisses by Addison Moore.  I'm totally loving it!!!  I have a review tour stop for it on Tuesday, so be sure to stop by then and see why I love it so much.  But for today, I leave you with this little bit of funniness! This is the main character, Baya, talking with her brother, Cole.

"This isn't going to turn into another book club lecture is it?  Because in case you haven't noticed - and you probably haven't because you're too busy jonesing for condoms - I'm in college now, and I plan on having a life for once."  Life is code for fun, which just might be code for penis, but I'm not brave enough to admit it.

So this weekend I reviewed a book called Price of a Kiss by Linda Kage, and I just loved it.  I shared a fairly tame quote on my review, but I saved the naughty stuff for you!  So after you check out the quote, maybe you want to check out my review and see what I loved so much about this book! You can find my review HERE

"Aww." I patted his belly, a bare three inches from the head of his oozing penis.  "Thinking of me first.  That's so sweet.  Thank you."

"Yeah, I'm a frigging saint.  Now will you please touch my dick like you mean it before the damn thing explodes?"

"Oh, all right."  I let out a resigned sigh as if giving in to his demands was such a bother.  Then I leaned over and touched his dick - with my tongue - stroking it all the way from base to top with a hot, wet stroke.

Quote-Tastic - Play Me

Quote-Tastic - In Flames (Jessica Jayne)

I'm a little late with today's post - but better late than never! I've been moving this week, and my reading has fallen behind - which left me without many quotes to choose from! But last night I started reading In Flames by Jessica Jayne, and I'm burning through it like nothing.  Fabulous story with all kinds of conflicting emotions, and lots of HOT sex.  I mean HOT.  Whew!  Good thing the hero is a firefighter, cause I'm gonna need to be hosed off!

Quote-Tastic: Enemy Within

Monday! You know what that means!! Time for Quote-Tastic!

Herding Cats & Burning Soup created this future to share our favorite quotes and passages from the books we love.  She's completely awesome for that!

So this week I am sharing a quote from.... Enemy Within!!!  This book was written by Angeline Kace. It's book two in the Vampire Born series.  I recently read it (and reviewed!) and gave it a 5 star rating.

Quote-Tastic: Being Me

I love Mondays.  Not because I get to go back to work, cause that would be insane.  Not because it is the most hated day of the week, and I feel bad for it.  Not because The Bangles think they are Manic... but because of Quote-Tastic.

Quote-Tastic - Hearts In Darkness by Laura Kaye

Welcome to another round of Quote-Tastic!! Quote-Tastic is the fun weekly meme started by Herding Cats & Burning Soup to celebrate some of our favorite books!

This week I am sharing from Hearts In Darkness by Laura Kaye.  If you haven't read this book, I urge you to do so immediately.  There is just something so special, so wonderful about it... It instantly made it to my all time favorite's list.   For those who don't know, it's the story of a man and a woman - stuck in an elevator.

Caden didn't respond, and Makenna was almost certain she'd put him to sleep.  Then he said, quietly, "I really like the sound of your voice."

Makenna's flush ran down into the neck of her silk blouse.  Saying she was pretty hadn't gotten to her, but his sayign he liked her voice set butterflies loose in her stomach.

"Me, too.  I mean, your voice.  I like it, too.  Your voice, that is."  Makenna bit her lip to cut off the spectacular stream of nonsense coming out of her mouth, then pretended to thunk herself in the forehead.  In that moment, she was glad for the darkness.

It's on my list to write a review up, maybe I will actually get to that this week.  In the meantime, just go buy it.  You definitely will be glad you did.

So that's my quote for the week.  What's yours?  Sign up on the link, and have some fun with us!

Quote-Tastic - The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas

Click Banner to visit HC&BS

Welcome to Quote-Tastic, hosted by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup!  She started this feature a bit ago so we could all share our favorite quotes from books.  I've been having a blast with it!
Generally, I've been featuring quotes from books I've reviewed recently.  This week I'm going to reach back in my archive to The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas.  This book had such a profound effect on me, it's stayed on my mind since I first read it in May 2012.  So yep, it's been just over a year.  I still talk about this book to everyone, it's definitely an all time favorite for me.

For those of you not familiar with the story, Christian is a centuries old vampire, and he's quite dangerous, which proves to be a problem for Juliette when she becomes the object of his attention and he decides to take her for his own.  I had two quotes I was debating with, and this is the one I've picked:

I am beginning to become more genuinely afraid of him. He seems to have shut off whatever power allows him to eavesdrop on my mind because he isn’t watching me in the same shrewd way or reacting to my thoughts. I assume he can turn this power on and off at will, otherwise it’s more of a curse than a gift. He’s walking circles around me, studying me. I shiver as his eyes caress my skin so intimately. I don’t feel like a virgin right now. I feel like what he just called me. A slut.

“Christian?”

“Yes?”

His tone is sort of absent, as if he’s lost in me, cataloging all my parts, making arcane lists in his mind.

“Are you going to hurt me?” I hold my breath. There is this stupid part of me that believes he won’t because he hasn’t in all this time even though he must have had opportunities. And he didn’t that night.

“Yes.”

So what do you think?  You like it?  If you like vampires and stories of captivity, then this book should do well for you.  It's not for everyone - it definitely deals with some strong subjects, and it doesn't hold back.  But as for me, I loved it.
