King by TM Frazier (Review and Giveaway)

Title: King
Series: King #1
Author: TM Frazier
Released: June 15, 2015 - CreatSpace
Pages: 302 per Goodreads
Format: Ebook received for review

Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.

Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.

Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.

King really came out of no where and blew me away.  I loved this book, I loved the characters, hell, I even loved their house.  And when it ended.... well, I didn't love that so much.  There's a bit of a cliffhanger, but that doesn't really bother me too much.  But I tell ya what, I want to read the next book NOW.

Step F*@K by Scarlett Ward (Review & Giveaway)

Title: Step F*@k
Series: Step F*@k
Author: Scarlett Ward
Release Date: June 17, 2015 (book 1)
Format: ebook received for review
Pages: 35-ish (book 1)

SWIPE LEFT.

That's all I did. A few too many glasses of wine with my best friend and the bitch convinced me to go on one of those dating websites.

A one-night stand.

A booty call.

And you know what? It.was.amazing.

I spent all night in a sexy stranger's arms, hot and sweaty, until it was time to sneak out and do the walk of shame back to my apartment.

I never thought I'd see sexy stranger again, and I was totally fine with that - until my mother's wedding.

She's getting remarried, see. And sexy stranger just happens to be my new stepbrother.

All the wine in the world isn't going to make this better.

Last week I got to read Step Fuck by Scarlett Ward.  It was a bit different from the usual step-romances I read because these step-siblings were adults living on their own, rather than college age adults, or new adults that grew up together.  In either case, calling it a step-romance would be a loose term, in my opinion.

SHE’S HOLDING ON TIGHT.

Cade is an outlaw biker with allegiance to one thing and one thing only: The Sinner’s Tribe Motorcycle Club. But when it comes to the stunningly sexy, fiercely independent Dawn Delgado, Cade finds himself…hungrier for more. Trouble is on Dawn’s heels and he wants to be the answer to her prayers, whether she wants him to be or not. What can’t be denied is the red-hot attraction between them. However, as they fall deeper, the danger rises and Cade may have to sacrifice it all…

I just knew when I read the first book in the Sinners Tribe series that I had found a new mc romance series to love, and Beyond The Cut proved it to me even more.  Sarah Castille has definitely gotten this reader hooked, and if you like mc romance - I say give this series a read!

Asking For It by Lilah Pace (Review & Giveaway)

Title: Asking For It
Series: Asking For It #1
Author: Lilah Pace
Published: June 2, 2015 - Berkley
Format:  Egalley
Pages: 336 per Goodreads

“This is who I am. This is what I want. Now I need a man dangerous enough to give it to me.”

Graduate student Vivienne Charles is afraid of her own desires—ashamed to admit that she fantasizes about being taken by force, by a man who will claim her completely and without mercy. When the magnetic, mysterious Jonah Marks learns her secret, he makes an offer that stuns her: they will remain near-strangers to each other, and meet in secret so that he can fulfill her fantasy.

Their arrangement is twisted. The sex is incredible. And—despite their attempts to stay apart—soon their emotions are bound together as tightly as the rope around Vivienne’s wrists. But the secrets in their pasts threaten to turn their affair even darker...

Reader Advisory: Asking for It deals explicitly with fantasies of non-consensual sex. Readers sensitive to portrayals of non-consensual sex should be advised.

Whoa.  This book is some book.  I really enjoyed it.  Asking For It had me flipping through the pages like a madwoman.  It is dark and a bit crazy and incredibly hot.

Better When It Hurts by Skye Warren (Review)

Title: Better When It Hurts
Series: Stripped #2
Author: Skye Warren
Published: June 4, 2015
Format: Ebook received for review
Pages: 179 per Goodreads

Five years ago we lived in the same house. He was the ultimate bad boy. And my foster brother.

Now he’s back. Tougher, harder, meaner. All of it aimed at me, because I was the one who sent him away. It’s payback time. He wants his pound of flesh, and I am helpless to say no.

Better When It Hurts.... holy shit.  So I read Love The Way You Lie, the first book in the Stripped series, but Better When It Hurts blew it out of the water.  I hate to get all fan-girl all over Skye Warren, but seriously - the woman has such a way with words, I don't even think I could write a review to do it justice.

“Not to be Chosen would yield a cruel fate of my own making.”

Like all citizens since the Ruining, Carrington Hale knows the importance of this day. But she never expected the moment she’d spent a lifetime preparing for—her Choosing ceremony—would end in disaster. Ripped from her family, she’ll spend her days serving as a Lint, the lowest level of society. She knows it’s her duty to follow the true way of the Authority.

But as Carrington begins this nightmare, rumors of rebellion rattle her beliefs. The whispers contradict everything she’s been told; yet they resonate deep within.

Then Carrington is offered an unprecedented chance at the life she’s always dreamed of, but she can’t shake the feeling that it may be an illusion. With a killer targeting Lints and corruption threatening the highest levels of the Authority, Carrington must uncover the truth before it destroys her.

I saw some friends on Facebook talking about this book, The Choosing.  I read the blurb and I was immediately interested.  I had to read it!  And then I started and I was continually saying to myself "What the fuck?!?" for the first couple chapters.
