Top 10 & Giveaway: Prince of Blood and Steel by Nazarea Andrews & AJ Elmore

Prince of Blood and Steel
AJ Elmore &
Nazarea Andrews

Seth Morgan has returned home after two years spent building an alliance that will take his family's crime syndicate to a new level in New York City's black collar society. He expects a warm welcome as heir of the Morgan empire. He hopes to finally marry Nicolette, the woman he's loved his whole life.

What he finds is a different world, one where his family's legacy is in ruins. His big brother, Caleb, has changed into someone cold and bitter, plotting to overthrow their patriarch. And Nicolette, daughter of the criminal banking industry, has left the family entirely.

When a vicious misunderstanding leaves Caleb dead, Seth is left reeling. Desperate for truth, Seth is forced to turn to his only remaining cousin, Emma, for support. As he tries to mend his relationship with Nicolette, he begins a search for answers that will take him from the dirty streets to the highest reaches of their illicit empire.

Torn between the desire to protect those who mean the most to him, and a need to learn more about Caleb's death, he grows distant to protect them. As each secret surfaces, he realizes that the only way to restore his family is to take his place at its head, and fully embrace the brutal way they live.

Hey everyone!  Today I have an awesome post for you!  It's a Top 10 list from author Nazarea Andrews!  I love these :)  It's always so much fun to see who would pick what.  Hope you like it!

Top 10 Favorite Things About Prince of Blood and Steel:

10. The glamour of upper class New York City. It was a lot of fun making this criminal royalty and figuring out how people would react to them. With their natural good looks and charm, people love to wonder about the Morgan family.

9. The Asian syndicate. While I adore the elite, uppercrust Morgans, the Asians have an earthiness to them that makes them at once accessible and sexy.

8a. Vera She’s a ballsy, ambitious reporter with a fascination with the Morgans—especially Seth—that borders on unhealthy. And she might be the most relatable of the characters in Prince because of that.

8b. Nicolette Oliver. The other woman in Seth’s life. I love how strong she is and how completely badass. She’s icy cold, but one of the very few who can make Seth human—and that’s super important for him.

7. There are no misunderstood angels. A common trope in New Adult fiction is the misunderstood angels. The closest anyone in Prince gets to that is Emma, and she’s by no means an angel. Seth and Emma are mafia royalty—and they embrace all of the vices that come with that.

6. The fact that we NEVER use the word ‘mafia’. Seriously. I mean, obviously we do outside the book itself, but they never refer to themselves as a mafia. It amuses me to no end.

5. Caleb Morgan. So  fun fact. I really didn’t like Caleb when AJ brought the first chapter to me and I read him. But he has grown on me over the years and the fact is—he’s one of the most influential characters in the series. He drives Seth and Emma’s actions and is this constant background ‘what if.’

4. Rama and Emma. I adored, seriously LOVED writing these two. The chemistry they have is incredible and it’s been crazy fun watching the relationship develop. And that it comes with such heavy consequences? Just makes it more fun.

3. The surprises. This is kinda hard to explain without being spoilery, but I’ll attempt. AJ and I aren’t plotters. We’re hard core pantsers. It works for us. But it meant there were elements in the book that was…surprising. To both of us.

2. Emma and Seth. This relationship, between the two cousins who are the heirs to this criminal network, is what really brings the book down to earth. When you push past the high rises and private schools, the coke and guns and intrigue, there is at the core of Prince, a deep bond between the two of them. They would, quite literally, do anything for the other. And sometimes, that creates problems. Watching it play out
and developing the relationship was my favorite thing.

1. Seth Morgan. Ah, Seth. Sexy and charming and deviant. And so damn sure the world will do what he wants. I adore him.
