Have you ever considered joining a street team? I'm on several, and one of the most recent ones I've join is for SR Johannes. At the end of this post you can see what kind of posts I've done with her before (all before joining her street team)
What is a street team?
A street team is a group of fans or supporters who rally behind an artist, band, or author. Street teams provide ways for us fans to help spread the word about the books and authors we love. Plus as a bonus most street teams offer really neat perks for being a part of the group. Think of it like your book club, but cooler.

Interview/Giveaway: Uncontrollable by SR Johannes
Uncontrollable
The Nature of Grace, #2
SR Johannes
As Grace recovers from tragedy, her science class is chosen by Agent Sweeney at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to help with research on the new "Red Wolf Reintroduction Program".
While she’s excited about helping with the conservation of the endangered wolves, Grace knows this means being outdoors in the worst winter recorded, in a place she no longer feels comfortable. It also means working closely with Wyn (her ex) and his annoying girlfriend (Skyler), a girl whose idea of getting close to nature is picking silk plants and growing fake plants.
After a couple of wolves show up dead, Grace almost quits. However, when a fellow project team member goes missing, Grace continues the assignment under a renewed suspicion that someone might be sabotaging the conservation program. She quietly begins to hunt for clues.
Little does she know, she is being hunted too.

Interview
**************
Hey Shelli! Hope you are having a great day! Thanks so much for participating in this quickie interview with me J
Today I want to talk a little bit about advertising yourself, your books, best ways to go about that etc. I may even throw in a little fun question, if you don’t mind!
When you have a new release, such as Uncontrollable, you are out there talking to people, creating release date widgets, launch day posts, book tours – you do it all. As a reader and a blogger I really enjoy the extra effort on your part as the author. But what do you think is the single best (or even a combo) way to promote a book?
Honestly? Bloggers J I think being an author and getting your book out there is about really connecting with people and getting them to spread the word. Most people buy books from friends, family, or places they trust. Sure, ads help and so do reviews. But, to me, there is nothing is like a blogger/reader spreading the word about a book they love.
You speak at schools and you vlog, not to mention all of your guest posting and interviews. So I gather you aren’t shy! Has that kind of stage fright type stuff ever been an issue, and how do you get over it (or how would you suggest getting over it)?
I am actually a huge introvert so I get very nervous before speaking. I just try and come across as a person as opposed to an expert in anything. I don’t’ get stage fright but I do get butterflies and feel totally sick before hand. I just try to focus on sharing my personal experience with writing without “telling” people how things are done or what they should do. I’m the only expert on what I have done so that helps take the pressure off J
There are so many platforms out there nowadays for promoting ourselves and our favorite things. Which is your favorite platform and why (ie Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook)?
Gosh, I like them all for different reasons. Each platform has a different audience and is used for different things. I love seeing the visual side of people on Pinterest. I love getting snippets of information on Twitter. And I love keeping up with people on Facebook. I think that is partly because I am in marketing and a total geek about social media though. It’s not normal ;)
A little bit about your books, now, if we may. Do you have a favorite character of your own?
Well like my children, I love all my characters J If they heard otherwise, they might rebel against me. But Grace from Untraceable and Gabby from On the Bright Side are my favs. I love their moody yet enduring personalities. I love that they are who they are and don’t care what others think. I love that they will do anything for the people they love, even if it puts them at risk.
And Uncontrollable is book two in your series, The Nature of Grace. Do you find it is easier or harder to continue with one character? Is Grace an easy character for you to write?
Both. Easier in that you know the characters, setting, and can work out the plot. Harder in that you have to remember to be consistent with small characters, you are backed into corners plot wise, and the pressure. It’s hard to top the first book because the first one is always the best.
And this tour for Uncontrollable is absolutely HUGE! What do you plan on doing when its over?
I posted my tour and had 75 people sign up. I didn’t have the heart to turn down any of the bloggers because they are so good to me. I also hate canned posts so I also felt I needed to offer something original since they are so sweet to host me in the first place. But after this, I’ll be writing more, promoting other people. I’m so tired of myself online right now. J
Ok Shelli, I think I will let you off the hook for today! Thank you, again, for taking a moment! Good luck on the release of Uncontrollable and the rest of your tour!
Thank you for having me and thank you to everyone who gives my book a chance! I really appreciate it!
